Southwest Florida baseball fans, get ready to “Play Ball!” The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, the Minnesota Twins Low A affiliate in Florida State League (FSL), host their home opener at Hammond Stadium at the Lee County Sports Complex on Tuesday, April 12, against the Jupiter Hammerheads of the Miami Marlins system at 7 p.m.! A Dream Come True The Mussels hosted a preseason reception for Season Ticket Holders at Hammond Stadium on Wednesday, April 6. John Martin, who recently became the team’s new majority owner, told the crowd that “this is literally a dream come true for me! From the time I was a little kid from a little dot on the map in the cornfields of Illinois, I watched and played baseball, dreaming that one day I might be successful enough in life to own a baseball team, and now that I do, we will get this right and be a pillar in the Southwest Florida community! We have a simple motto – Affordable Family Fun – to ensure a great atmosphere at the ballpark.” Mussels Manager Brian Meyer, entering his second season with the organization, calls his team “exciting! Yet money is often cited as one of the main causes of divorce. A recent survey by Policygenius found that 1 in 5 people say their partner is financially irresponsible. And these people are over 10 times more likely to break up over money issues than people who say their partner is good with money. I always recommend that couples get to know each other financially at the beginning of their relationship, but that really is just the start. A relationship can be a lifelong journey, and your financial togetherness is an important part of it. There are bound to be gaps in each partner's financial attitudes and know-how, so, to me, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the No Patient Left Alone Act into law Wednesday. The bill guarantees that Floridians can visit their loved ones in hospitals, hospices and long-term care facilities regardless of a public health emergency. In Florida, and nationwide, families have been kept apart as loved ones died in hospitals, hospices and long-term care facilities due to coronavirus safety protocols. In late 2020, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reinstated federal My great friend and co-author Nicky Billou and I recently released our first book together, "The Great Patriot Protest & Boycott Book: The Priceless List For Conservatives, Christians, Patriots, and 80+ Million Trump Warriors To Cancel 'Cancel Culture' And Save America." It's a book that lists 116 "woke" corporations and condemns their fear-driven assault on normal, traditional Americans. We show how to fight back against these gigantic, woke, anti-American corporations spitting in our faces while we make them rich by buying their products. One of the companies on our list is The Walt Disney Co. Lo and behold, Disney just became THE poster child for our struggle to save America. They must be our "Mona Lisa" — our masterpiece proving we can successfully cancel companies that offend and insult us.. Once we hurt Disney in the pocketbook and bring them to their knees, this will serve as Exhibit A for how the we the people can take back America. But first things first: We must successfully "Defund Disney." Disney could very well be the worst offender we've ever seen. With their arrogance and radical beliefs, they've made themselves thedtarget of American liberals and conservatives alike. Disney has made it easy to hate Disney. And they have no one but themselves to blame. Disney has chosen a "hill to die on": they want to overturn the new Florida law that stops the indoctrination of little children, from prekindergarten through third grade, with woke, sexual, gender-identity brainwashing and transgender equality education. Keep in mind that we're only talking about 5- to 8year-olds. What parent could possibly disagree? What parent visiting Disney could possibly disagree? But Disney doesn't care. They are intent on alienating the tens of millions of parents who believe that 5- to 8-year-olds shouldn't be sexualized at school and that those same 5- to 8-year-olds shouldn't be taught to change their sexual identity like they're changing a pair of sneakers. Can you imagine? Disney has chosen this hill to die on. The president of Disney recently bragged that she will make sure half of all characters in Disney movies, television shows and videos are either gay, lesbian, trans or other minorities. I have no problem with that. America is a free country. But I hope she and her Disney bosses have no problem if we Americans decide to never again visit any Cont. pg. 17 Spring Season Ends... The Sun Bay Paper Page 3 April 8, 2022 - April 14, 2022 It can be nearly impossible to tell from just taste and smell if the water coming out of your tap is safe to drink. The good news is, if your home uses public or municipal water lines, your water provider can give test results for the water for free. Just look up the number on your water bill and call them up. Public water must be tested on a regular basis, and the company must offer customers something called a Consumer Confidence Report, which details the results of the testing. Many of these reports can also be found on the Environmental Protection Agency's website, epa.gov. Once you open a tin can containing food like tomato paste, fruit or sardines, you may think it's fine to cover the opening with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store it in the fridge. But once a tin can is open, it's not a safe food storage vehicle. Bacteria can grow along the edges of the can in no time at all, and highly acidic foods can take on a metallic taste. If you have leftover ingredients after opening a can, transfer the leftovers to an airtight container. Then be sure to rinse and toss the can in the recycling bin. These days, many people are going back to raising their own chickens, so they have an ample supply of free-range, organic eggs in their own backyard. (this is a good idea, even if you are not a Survivalist) But ask anyone who has done this, and they will tell you there are times when the supply far exceeds the demand. Whether you raise chickens or not, if you find yourself with an extra supply of eggs (maybe they were on sale), do two things to extend the life. First, use a pencil to mark the eggs with the date you collected them; use the older eggs first. Second, since eggshells are porous, you can coat them with vegetable oil if you aren't planning to use them right away. This creates an airtight barrier and keeps the insides of the eggs fresher for longer. Fresh Eggs When it comes to recycling your cans, bottles and boxes at home, the most commonly recycled plastics are the ones marked with a No. 1 or No. 2. But there are certain No. 1marked plastics -- specifically black plastic microwavable trays -- that are most likely NOT recyclable. The distinction is simple: It's usually marked No. 1s, not just No. 1. This is a different grade of plastic resin that is harder to recycle. Your trash provider should be able to tell you if they accept No. 1s plastics, but if in doubt, just toss it Just Toss It The most fuel-efficient way to travel by plane is to go directly from your departure city to your destination without any connecting flights or stops. Often, when booking a ticket online, you'll notice there are flight options that appear to be "direct," but be sure to doublecheck: A "direct" flight is not necessarily a "nonstop" one. Some direct flights mean the plane will stop at a different destination to deplane and accept passengers, continuing on to your final destination. Only nonstop flights go without stopping. Danny Seo Direct or Non-Stop When moving into a new home, one of the biggest hassles can be finding cardboard boxes, assembling them and hoping they're treated gently during the big move. Then, after you move, you're stuck with cardboard boxes that need to be broken down before recycling. Many moving companies are getting rid of cardboard altogether and switching to plastic crates. These crates are sturdier and can protect your belongings better. Plus, they are reusable by the companies, which means less waste, too. The next time you move, look into companies that rent them (like Rentacrate, Bungo Box, Lend A Box, U-Haul, Better Than Boxes and Redi-Box,) or see if your moving company can provide crates as a green alternative Rent Moving Boxes Rinse and Toss Drinkable Tap Water

We enjoyed a normal Spring Training on the minor league side, unlike the past two years, and have many rising prospects on our roster, so expect the Mussels to give 100% every single game. As for our players, I assure you they will be better by the end of April than on Opening Night, and much better in September.” Broadcaster John Vittas, who will call all 60 home games and half of the road ones, predicts that fans “will love this Mussels squad! Our infield is particularly strong and our pitching staff has serious talent.” As for on-field rule changes, “this season the FSL will have a pitch clock to speed up the game; with pitchers having to throw the ball in 14 seconds with the bases empty and 18 seconds with runners on. The FSL will once again experiment with a robo-ump calling balls and strikes in select games in a unique format: the home plate umpire calls the pitches two out of every six home games; the robo-ump in two others; and in the other two, it will be the home plate umpire, but the robo-ump will be on as well, so teams will have up to three challenges to the computer to reverse the call if they feel the umpire got it wrong.” The Mussels 29-man roster features six of the Twin’s Top30 prospects, with 16 pitchers and 13 position players. Of these, nearly half – 14 – were with the Mussels at some point during the 2021 season. Highlighting the list are shortstop Noah Miller and outfielder Emmanuel Rodrigues, with Major League Baseball Pipeline ranking Miller the Twins #10 prospect and Baseball America bestowing the same figure on Rodrigues. Miller, age 19, was the 36th overall Major League 2021 draft pick, directly from Ozaukee High School in Fredonia, Wisconsin. The same person who would tell us, “I will run my third term from my basement” …the same person who said his ideal 3rd term, as president, would be a faux President with an earpiece so, “I can give him his speech a sentence at a time”…the one who said “I will fundamentally change America”. Those are all his words and he is making fools out all of you who support/supported either one of those two scoundrels, Hussein and Obiden! You just don’t get it , he is telling you the truth and those who fail to believe what this guy is telling them…I hope, you will live to regret what you have done by electing this Muslim as Presidenttwice…actually now 3 times!! Everything that he has done was/is to change America alright…change it to a socialist, Islamic nation … and if, after all he has done to destroy America …you don’t believe, then in my opinion, you don’t deserve to continue to vote! If you want Socialism… pick a country where you like the way they live and go there! You can’t find a Socialist place where you want to be? Where you can travel freely, worship your own God, sell your home grown vegetables and corn in front of your house, pick where you want to live and work, speak freely about things you dislike about your ruler… because they kills those who do? Is that what is troubling you…Bunky? Well smarten up… you are about to see the first attempt to, overthrow of our government, in our Nation’s history, and you who voted for him, have made all that possible, my opinion!! Don’t believe it, yet? Well just answer these few questions…if I told you that Obama is going to close all the fossil fuel POWER PLANTS (like he said he would), without any viable replacements (that’s 85% of our power plants)… what would you say? He has already closed 45% of our fossil fuel plants during his 8 years of terror! Would you not wonder WHY? Why haven’t you felt the end result so far?…it’s because thanks to Republican and nonMuslim Democrat Presidents, we had 125% of the power we needed B O (Before Obama). Hussein/ Obiden closed 45% of fossil fuel plants and we now have 85% of the power we need, if everybody is running their AC! That;s what happened in Texas where the Texas Grid went down ...that’s what happed there. Ask somebody who lived through that …how it was. without power for weeks! Understand, we only have 3 Grids …the East, West and Texas Grids and the Texas Grid went down entirely because of Obama’s actions, my opinion. If I told you the same Hussein Obama and his VP Biden is going to open our Southern Border and allow everybody in who wants to come to the US, without any vetting and be given up to $16,000 each in cash, social security benefits, welfare benefits, free air transportation (while you can’t find a flight home, and are given the 3rd degree by TSA) , while you pay $5 +/gallon of gas. They are receiving free housing, free medical , now get ready for this ….and that’s over 4 million people you are now supporting AND the bastards are going to allow and encourage… more to come in beginning next month! If I told you Obama, not Biden, is responsible for shutting down 4 million barrels per day (14 million per day by Trump and $1.85 per gallon)… by closing all government owned property to the oil companies even if they have permits and contracts! Now it’s below 10 million and we are buying from our enemies who want to kill us! What would you ask your President …Obama ? He is going to try to convert our currency to Bit coin or some other digital currency to afford complete control over your money…no more paper dollars and all currency will go through one bank…the FED! They will have complete and unfettered access to all your funds! No search warrant necessary! Because there will be no more 4th Amendment protecting us from unlawful search and seizure! Call your Democrat Senators and Congressman and threaten to vote Republican across the board if they don’t smarten up and get control of the Border and start drilling 4-5 million more barrels per day!!! When they say how? Tell them to reopen ALL those Government lands, like the Green River reserves , the other reserves that Obama just closed…he just said Biden is his VP folks…I believe the bastard! The state of Texas will begin transporting cooperating illegal immigrants to the steps of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., Gov. Greg Abbott said Wednesday. Anticipating 18,000 illegal immigrants crossing the U.S. border every day after Title 42 ends May 24, Abbott said the transportation of those entering the U.S. illegally to the national capital is one of several new measures the state is taking to thwart illegal immigration into Texas. Title 42, instituted by former President Donald Trump, allowed for the expulsion of illegal immigrants at the border to help prevent the spread of COVID. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday it would end the policy, citing the decline in the severity of COVID. Abbott met Wednesday with law enforcement officials in Del Rio and Weslaco, Texas, where he announced a series of new strategies being added to Operation Lone Star, Texas’ border security effort launched in March 2021 in response to President Joe Biden's open border policies. The Texas measures, designed to curtail Mexican cartel-driven human and drug smuggling, include using taxpayer money to transport illegal immigrants from Texas to Washington, D.C., he said. “We are sending them to the U.S. Capitol where the Biden administration will more immediately be able to address the needs of the people that they are allowing to cross our border,” he said. The Texas Department of Emergency Management will oversee the operation, which begins Thursday. TDEM Chief Nim Kidd said at least 900 charter buses are available. The state will transport people who’ve been processed and released from federal custody via charter buses or commercial flights, the governor’s office clarified in a news release. Transportation is voluntary. “A migrant must volunteer to be transported and show documentation from DHS,” the governor’s office said. “Mayors and county judges can notify TDEM of any DHS-facilitated drop-off of migrants in their communities so that the agency can provide appropriate transportation.” The Texas National Guard is also building barricades to use non-lethal means to block illegal entry into Texas. Working with DPS, the guard is deploying boat blockades on the Rio Grande River at certain key points on the Texas side of the river, deploying razor wire in low water crossings in high traffic areas, and creating container blockades to drive people away from low water crossings. The National Guard will begin its first phase of mass migration rehearsals Thursday in anticipation of a massive influx of people. This includes maritime and civil disturbance capabilities. All state troopers and National Guard members will be equipped with riot gear anticipating violence created by migrant caravans. “If you’re a caravan organizer and you think you’re going to overrun a port of entry, we’ll be there waiting for you,” Texas Military Department Adjutant General Major General Thomas Suelzer said. Texans living along the southern border should expect to see increased military activity, he said. The Texas Department of Public Safety on Wednesday began conducting enhanced vehicle inspections at 20 international crossing locations in Texas. The operation began at 4 p.m., Texas DPS Chief Steve McCraw said. “Commercial vehicles, and the trucking industry are vital to our way of life,” McCraw said. The majority of owners comply with transportation regulations, he said, but the cartels “could care less.” They don’t care about how many people they kill and continue to violate motor vehicle laws, he said. DPS officers will be targeting commercial vehicles that appear to be unsafe because they may be used by cartels to smuggle people. Roughly 4.8 million commercial vehicles already enter Texas, McCraw said. After Title 42 is eliminated, he expects this number to increase significantly. Texas DPS inspections are expected to slow traffic at ports of entry. The Biden administration has said it anticipates 500,000 people entering the U.S. illegally per month from over 150 countries beginning May 24. Rather than following immigration law and denying entry or facilitating deportations, the federal government, working with nongovernmental organizations, is facilitating the transfer of illegal immigrants throughout the U.S. Unless the policy changes or is halted, by the end of this year, more people will have entered the U.S. illegally than those living in Los Angeles, America’s second-largest city, Abbott said. The number is “unprecedented and dangerous,” he said, after roughly 2 million were already apprehended or encountered last year. These numbers exclude those who evade capture by law enforcement. In one year, Texas DPS and local law enforcement have apprehended more than 200,000 illegal immigrants, arrested more than 11,000 people including cartel members, drug smugglers and cop killers, Abbott said. “They’ve also seized more fentanyl that was enough to kill every man, woman and child in Texas,” he said. Texas has already begun to build its own border wall on state land and the Texas legislature last year allocated $3 billion to border security efforts. Some say Abbott is not doing enough and have called on him to declare increased illegal immigration by transnational criminal organizations an invasion. Greg Abbott, speaks in front of Director and Colonel of the Texas Dept of Public Safety Steven McCraw Government Policies Effect Gas Prices Lawmakers grilled a panel of leading oil company executives during a Congressional hearing Wednesday over high gas prices. The executives responded that restrictive government policies play a significant role. According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of gas is $4.16, a major increase from the same time last year, when the average was $2.87. Democrats have called on oil companies to lower gas prices. “The American people are understandably fed up with these prices, and we are here today to demand answers from Big Oil about when they will finally start providing the American people some relief,” Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, D-N.J., said during the hearing. “As oil prices rise and Americans are hurting, the six oil companies testifying today made more than $75 billion in profits between them last year. It’s also likely these companies will make even more money this year.” The Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations of the Committee on Energy and Commerce held the joint hearing. The oil executives said they are working to keep prices down by expanding supply, which costs money via investment, new technology, and taking financial risks. They also pointed to the role of government policies, limiting pipeline development and drilling permits has. “No single company sets the price of oil or gasoline,” Woods of ExxonMobil said. “The market establishes the price based on available supply, and the demand for that supply. … Government plays a critical role in this. Policies that reflect the importance of energy, create certainty and improve predictability, encourage industry investment, and ensure affordable and reliable supplies of energy. Consistent, efficient, and effective permitting processes, whether for leases, drilling, or infrastructure such as pipelines, or export applications, will help spur further investment in U.S. oil and gas production.” High gas prices have become a hot-button political issue as Americans struggle to keep up with rising prices at grocery stores and the gas pump. Federal inflation data show the fastest rising prices in nearly four decades. To help combat these economic woes, Biden announced last week he would release 180 million barrels of oil per day for the next six months. Biden touted the relief measure, but critics called it too little too late. “But this is under 10 days’ worth of daily US oil use,” said Joel Griffith, a policy expert at the Heritage Foundation. “Meanwhile, this administration's 'war on energy' continues – by including shuttering pipelines, closing off swathes of the nation to drilling, and even threatening oil executives with prison for providing the gasoline American business and families depend on.” Biden has deflected the blame for high prices, pointing to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. At Wednesday’s hearing, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, rebuffed that point. "The Biden administration has waged a war on supply, and prices have skyrocketed,” Cruz said. “This is not an accident. This is not Putin. This is Joe Biden, and the Democrats, and the Green New Deal. And they are desperately looking for a political excuse to blame somebody else for the consequences of what they promised they would do to the American people." Casey Harper The Center Square

For some reason that appears inexplicable, Progressives believe the greatest danger to our national security is the weather; well, they call it “man-made climate change,” but however you want to term it, its all a bogus, costly, non-existent problem which Progressives believe can only be solved by taxing users (everybody). Always follow the money. One wonders just how they plan to stop or tax the hundreds of volcanos huffing and puffing all around the world, some sending cooling gasses, others pouring millions of tons of toxic gases into the atmosphere with every passing minute? There is no answer. Biden’s commitment to stupidity is impressive. His disastrous policies have resulted in the increased production by foreign countries of dirtier petroleum products making Biden’s energy policies counter green because they increase the world’s carbon footprint, not reduce it, not that it matters at all. But, it challenges our economy and could destroy it. Biden’s decision to close the XL pipeline and stop fracking and exploration in American oil fields has diverted thousands of petroleum industry jobs to Russia and Iran, which directly affected our GDP. Americans are seeing rising costs and inflated taxes, all to support local, state, and federal governments, while oil industry job losses effectively diminish support to the communities they live in. The consequences will be dire because our economy will lose billions in the years ahead in lost revenue for oil companies and shareholders. Too, corporate tax revenues, if they pay any at all, will be further reduced, affecting retirees who hold stocks in American oil companies, including the retirement plans of many cities and states. As global oil prices increase, poorer countries, unable to meet inflated oil costs, will return to cheaper coal for their heating and electricity-producing needs. Since Trump’s defeat in 2020, Biden’s immediate implementation of Progressive and unAmerican policies has affected US petroleum and natural gas sources and world markets, with negative consequences for all economies. It was not by accident! Supply and demand is the operating thesis of most of our needs. Who controls it controls us. Who gave brain fossilized Joe Biden that authority? Reduced supplies for everyday living have inflated prices here, strengthening production of unfriendly oil-producing countries like Russia and Iran, so they see significant gains in their own GDP. It was not an accident! The supply and demand problem was exacerbated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine because Biden’s foolish administration was also buying Russian oil. Biden faced a dilemma, continue to supply America with foreign oil - Russian oil, or cut them off. Europe became dependent on Russian petroleum because it was assumed Russia’s post-Cold War mischief-making days were over, that they had nothing to fear. As they were just next door, gas and oil could be obtained cheaper than from the US or Arabian Gulf sources. This policy adversely affected NATO by weakening its somnambulant but collective security and economic policies. Russia and Iran, it was thought, could sell their inferior oil (high sulfur content) and natural gas on global markets bypassing sanctions. It was an attack on our economy because the American petrol dollar is the medium of the world’s monetary sales. Then came Putin’s invasion of Ukraine to prove it, putting Biden between a rock and a hard spot. Europe wasn’t buying our oil and gas, and our own needs had all but been stymied for silly climate reasons, not because we were running low, but for Progressive political purposes. It was not an accident! If Biden deregulated US oil markets (but he won’t), domestic and global oil supplies would increase, prices would level, and Vladimir Putin’s ability to fund his dreams of a greater Mother Russia would be significantly restricted. The US government has its proper role in regulating our economy, but that role has been detrimental to good business, something Trump understood. If the end goal is to create a Communist government, the result is clear… The US will no longer be the world’s largest and most competitive economy with roughly $24.13 trillion, just another beggar state supine to the “Woke” demands of the New World Order. How do we finance the US economy to keep America the beacon of hope, freedom, and free enterprise and Ronald Reagan’s shining city on the hill when Democrats want us to be a socialist economy: “From you according to your abilities, to you according to your needs?” Progressives must destroy America’s primacy for their New World Order. Trump foresaw this and is on record warning of the potential dangers of the EU’s sole source energy dependence policy from countries once considered our enemies. Well, they still are! Remember, freedom is the goal; the Constitution is the way. George McClellan America Out Loud Saving America from Planet Threatening Fossil Fools DeSantis Signs Bill to Guarantee Visitation Rights for Patients and Their Families visitation protections for long-term care facilities, which includes waiving visitation policies for hospitals allowing them to prohibit patient visitation. Under the new law, no health care facility in Florida can require a COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of visitation and every health care facility is required to allow residents and patients to be hugged by their loved ones. “Throughout the pandemic, the federal government has waived protections for families to visit their loved ones in hospitals and long-term care facilities. That is unacceptable,” DeSantis said. “Here in Florida, we recognize that family and human connection is one of the most important aspects of physical, mental, and emotional well-being and we are ensuring Floridians are never again denied the right to see their relatives and friends while in hospitals or nursing homes.” “Over the past year, I have seen the struggles that residents have experienced in hospitals and longterm care facilities where they were unable to visit with their family,” Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Secretary Simone Marstiller said, adding that the agency would investigate any violations of the law. The new law requires health care facilities to allow in-person visitation in several situations unless the resident, client or patient objects. The situations apply to residents, clients or patients who were living with family members before they were admitted to a provider’s care, are facing end-of-life decisions, are dealing with making one or more major medical decisions, are experiencing emotional distress, grieving the loss of a friend or family member who recently died, or need encouragement to eat, drink or speak. It also applies to pregnancies and pediatric patients. The bill allows a resident, client or patient to designate a visitor as an essential caregiver. The caregiver can be a family member, friend, guardian, or other individual. The law requires providers to allow in-person visitation by the essential caregiver for at least two hours a day, among other provisions. The bill’s sponsor, Sen. Ileana Garcia, said, “During the pandemic I heard from so many families who were heartbroken and frustrated because they could not be with a relative who was hospitalized. We all know of people who sadly died alone, unable to feel the warmth of a loved one’s touch or a final goodbye. That is unacceptable, and this law makes certain that will never happen again.” Senator Gayle Harrell said the bill ensures that patients won’t be isolated in nursing homes or health care facilities during a health emergency. “I have talked with and worked with so many family members over the past two years who experienced many difficulties in seeing and supporting their loved ones during this time,” she said. “This bill will make a huge difference for them.” The new law requires all Florida hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and intermediate care facilities for the developmentally disabled to adopt and publicly post their visitation policy by May 6. The policy must be easily accessible on their website home page and include visitation hours among other information. Floridians who encounter any resistance to these requirements are encouraged to file a complaint online at www.ahca.myflorida.com/visitation. ASK THE DOCTORS LipoMelt Lipomelt is a safe, pain free alternative to liposuction. The LipoMelt treatment is 100% non-invasive and does not cause any bruising or scarring. Clients will see a reduction of inches after their very first session; best results are achieved with multiple sessions over a few weeks time. How does LipoMelt work? You lay down and two distinct frequencies of unique light emitted from LED’s cause the fat to emulcify (melt) in the cell membranes, temporarily altering the permeability of the cell wall. This brief change allows some of the melted fat contents to seep out to where it can then be processed by the body. What happens to the fat? After being released, the fat is broken down into free fatty acids and glycerol and enter the blood stream via the Lymphatic system. Once in the blood stream, the fatty acids can be quickly eliminated by the body. What areas of the body can be treated? The LipoMelt treatment can be effectively used on essentially every part of the body where localized fat deposits exist that are resistant to diet and exercise. This includes the waist, hips, upper legs, thighs and upper arms...even the neck.. Does LipoMelt help with cellulite and loose skin? Clients undergoing LipoMelt have noticed an improvement with cellulite as well as skin tone and texture. Do I have to follow a diet? No diet changes are required, but you can expect better results if you reduce your caloric intake even just a little and increase your water consumption to 6- 8 glasses a day. Meanwhile, reducing alcohol consumption will reduce calories and help the liver. One Less Bite! The key to weightloss is making a change in your diet that is maintainable. A nutritionalist once told me if you eat 2,000 calories of food a day and burn off 2,000 calories of food a day, at the end of the month, or at the end of the year you won’t gain or lose any weight, but if you add the extra calories of one bowl of soup per week to that balance ... at the end of one year you will gain 5 lbs! Soooooo if you only remove the calories of one bowl of soup per week to your intake you lose 5 lbs in a year.... Moral of that story is make small changes that are maintainable! Like not eating another bite once you are full, you can eat the rest later as a snack, (eating often, small portions is better for our metabloism) I love my burgers and still eat them but usually take almost half of it home. I also still eat fries... it’s true! but only eat a hand full, I usually ask for half as much as they normally send out and don’t end up eating all of those either! (and no, I won’t take them home... I don’t enjoy cold or reheated mushy fries) Do I have to exercise? Are they doomed to obesity and ill health? Dear Reader: We wish we could reassure you and say it'll all be OK, but studies have long been clear on the matter. What your kids eat now will shape their health for years and maybe decades to come. Poor eating habits have caused a spike in childhood obesity in the last few decades. Today, more than 17 percent of kids ages 2 to 17 qualify as obese. That's double what it was 20 years ago. Being overweight has put young people at increased risk of all kinds of health problems and led to a sharp increase in the diagnosis of conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated blood cholesterol, fatty liver, and even asthma and sleep disorders. But before you confront your kids with a list of "don'ts," which teens are naturally primed to resist, be aware that the newest study on youth nutrition has some great news. It arms you with the information you need to right the nutritional course while encouraging your teens in a positive way. Here's the gist: Young people who ate fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains, and who steered clear of sugar, red meat and processed foods, gained significantly less weight as they entered young adulthood. The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Minnesota, followed the eating habits of 2,500 adolescents from the time they were 15 until they turned 25. Researchers found that by eating well at age 15, young people developed the habit of good nutrition, and it carried on into their 20s and beyond. The takeaway? You can guide your children to a more healthful adulthood by helping them establish good eating habits while they are in their teens. Some strategies: -- Stock the fridge with plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole-grain products. -- Clear out the processed foods and the fatty, salty snacks. -- Serve lean meats, poultry, fish, beans and legumes for protein. -- Make sure that serving portions are a reasonable size. -- Make the home a no-soda zone. This includes diet drinks. -- Steer clear of sugar and sweets. The goal is moderation, and your best chance at success is to get creative. Instead of being forbidden, let the fried foods your kids love become special-event treats. That way, they'll be less likely to feel deprived and sneak-eat. Cooking together -- scouting recipes, shopping, preparing the food and eating as a family -- can go a long way to cementing the new eating behavior. Exercise makes a big difference, not just to teens but for adults as well. There's no better way than to lead by example. Start taking family hikes or bike rides. Pick out a local race to train for and set an in-family competition with personal goals and rewards. If you market these changes as something that's fun for the kids and for yourself, you're far more likely to create healthy habits that will last for life. Lose Weight While You REST...??? LipoMelt! In the beginning, the rich nerds who launched tech startups saw themselves as "disruptors." They had power, swagger and money. But a funny thing happened on the way to their revolution: The tech startups became giants, and then the giants became enforcers of the status quo. The erstwhile disruptors became America's information oligarchs. It's no wonder then that many conservatives were overjoyed at Elon Musk's announcement that he had a 9.2% stake in Twitter stock and would join the social media platform's board. The stock market leapt at the news. In a day, Twitter stock bumped up some 27%. During the two years he'll be on the board, Musk, who already boasted 80 million followers, won't be able to own more than 14.9% of stock. When President Barack Obama, aka the "first social media president," won office in 2008, Silicon Valley flaunted its role in installing the first Black president. Tech was golden, a force for good. Then came President Donald Trump, a Twitter virtuoso, who credited social media for expanding his profile and opening the door to the Oval Office. After Trump's surprise 2016 victory, Silicon Valley discovered its duty to "moderate" -- read: suppress -- content. On Jan. 6, 2021, following the Capitol Hill riots, Twitter suspended the @realDonaldTrump account. Two days later, after Trump signaled that he did not see President Joe Biden's win as legitimate, Twitter permanently suspended the account to prevent Trump from inciting further violence, according to a company statement. Then-CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted that he did "not celebrate or feel pride" in banning Trump because "a ban is a failure of ours ultimately to promote healthy conversation." Since then, Twitter has deplatformed numerous accounts for spreading "misinformation." Staffers once dedicated to facilitating the free exchange of ideas have become dogged censors of politically incorrect viewpoints. Last month, for example, Twitter suspended the account of Babylon Bee, a conservative parody site, for what Twitter described as "hateful conduct." Babylon Bee's offense: a satirical post that hailed Rachel Levine, a transgender official in the Biden administration, as "man of the year." Since Babylon Bee refused to delete the tweet, the suspension continues. Five years ago, such satire likely would have played well in comedy venues. Now it's hate speech. The Washington Post painted the double standard as a divide between a laissez-faire approach and "stronger actions to reduce misinformation and harm." Be it noted: As far as Beltway media are concerned, misinformation applies to Trump's claim that he won the 2020 election. But the bogus Steele "dossier," Russiagate and ill-starred COVID-19 guidance issued by Beltway officialdom -- those bad stories don't register as misinformation. That's why Musk is needed - - which Dorsey and CEO Parag Agrawal clearly understand. Agrawal tweeted, Musk is "both a passionate believer and intense critic of the service which is exactly what we need." Apparently, it takes an outsider to curb drunk-withpower laptop censors. Musk's friendly relations with Trump are likely to drive snowflake staffers to the exit doors. Those who can't handle the free exchange of ideas are free to go. If they think they shouldn't have to be exposed to contrary opinions, they should avoid the public square. Not vice versa. Debra J. Saunders The Sun Bay Paper Page 8 April 8, 2022 - April 14, 2022 Letters To The Editor Guest Editorial To the Editor, Seems like the day just started and it's already six in the evening, the weekend starts and wham..it’s Monday, and in a blink, it's already Friday. Then the month is over, next thing you know, its another New Years eve. And every year passes faster and then we realize we lost our parents, our friends and it's too late to go back. So...especially in today’s world... Let's try, ...despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time we have. Let's smile at the little things in life that put the warmth in our hearts. And despite everything, we must continue to enjoy this time we have left, it goes faster than you think! Let's try to eliminate the afters..I'll take a vacation after so and so... I'll apologize after XYZ.... I'll ask/tell them after.... We leave everything for later like ′′ after ′′ is ours to will. What we don't understand is that: Afterwards...day becomes night. Afterwards... priorities change. Afterwards... health passes. Afterwards... the charm is gone. Afterwards... the kids grow up. Afterwards... parents get old. Afterwards... promises are forgotten. Afterwards... life ends.... And then....all too often ....it’s too late. So.. Let's leave nothing for later, because waiting for later, we can lose the best moments, the best experiences, the best friends, the best family. We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone what needs to be done right away. and it doesn’t matter if you are young! I hate to bring a dose of reality to this letter but ... Tomorrow is not promised! I recently lost a grandson, age 14, bet he didn’t think at breakfast his day would have ended the way it did! and now he’s gone! Life looks like an eternity, but it's a short trip, Enjoy it and always be kind. I read a great quote of the week in your paper a few weeks ago... “Be here now, Be somewhere else later”.......... I love it.... so simple Beverly Lynn Rosen Ed. Note: Thanks Beverly, great message... so sorry for your loss! To the Editor: All I can say about your paper is holy smokes. What a load of cow dung. Talk about head in the sand junk science, "The Hour I First Didn’t Believe" by Caleb S. Rossite Ph.D. (V7 I21). I believe I may very well be the one and only Biden lovin' liberal in this fine town. While I admire your strong stand on all things conservative, I just can't go down the road you travel. The planet is warming and men and women are the cause. All the fake science you print won't chage tha fact. William Marino Ed. Note: thanks for your patronage of our paper William, we’ll just have to agree to disagree on Global Warming. An interesting tid bit about volcanic eruptions, while they all spew gasses, some spew mostly CO2 ... others spew a lot of sulphur dioxide, which is of particular interest. In concentration, it can be harmful to humans but in the atmosphere it has a global cooling effect, after one such eruption in the Phillipines in 1991, much sulphur dioxide was released.. global temperatures dropped over 4 degrees F throughout the world in 1992 & 1993 ... just one eruption! In core samples we have proof that the earth has been cooling and warming for over 8,000 years, long before men and women had anything to do with it! As far a being a liberal... if you voted for Biden and are on board with his current agenda then you can not call yourself that... I like liberals and can still have intelegent conversations with them, but I think his current agenda supporters have blinders on and should consider themselves socialist or communist even. The Sun Bay Paper Page 10 April 8, 2022 - April 14, 2022 A Bad Dream Budget, and More Bad News It’s budget time and President Biden delivered his 2023 budget proposal a few days ago, two months late. My review of the proposal disclosed that its ne’er-do-well assumptions and computations would qualify as a “great wonder of the modern world.” Total spending is $5.8 trillion, 31% higher than the 2019 federal budget. Over the next 10 years, expenditures are projected to total $73 trillion. ......... Think about that. The proposal is full of speculative assumptions and rosy projections. CPI is assumed to flatten after 2023 at just over 2.3%. Inflation is assumed to reduce significantly, and the budget is loaded with tax increases. The national debt in 2032 is projected at $45 trillion. It’s hard to believe anything like that could be approved. Now, about that other bad news. The national debt seems to be growing at the speed of light. In March of 2020, just as COVID was building a head of steam, the national debt was a “mere” $23.5 trillion. Shocking at the time, for sure. But if that sounds modest to you, it’s because after a short and painful two years, that number has grown by almost 30% to approximately $30.5 trillion. COVID stimulus payments account for much of this. Some democrat politicians insist on separating the elements of the “budget/spending/tax/ borrowing” continuum.” They want spending and debt limit decisions to be separated. Quite the contrary, responsible fiscal management demands that the debt limit act as a direct check on spending. Here’s how these elements work together: Government programs create spending requests. Spending decisions naturally lead to tax and borrowing decisions. Net borrowing requirements result in deficits, often followed by a need to increase the national debt. And that’s when the inevitable partisan congressional infighting begins. While that’s not good news, it isn’t what I consider the really bad news. Periodically, I like to remind myself and others that “national debt” comprises only a small portion of total U.S. obligations. The missing amounts are referred to quite simply as “unfunded liabilities.” These obligations have a cash flow impact just as real as the repayment of our “national debt.” The main difference is that the national amount represents money we’ve already borrowed to pay for past expenditures. You and I are most familiar with these obligations in the form of U.S. Treasury bonds, Treasury notes, and Treasury bills. Examples of unfunded liabilities include Social Security, Medicare, federal employee benefits, veterans’ benefits, and several other programs. The projected obligations include amounts for current program participants only, not future participants. Some pundits point out that those programs are supported by dedicated trust funds for paying future obligations, Social Security and government employee retirement plans for example. But those trust balances are primarily IOUs from the federal government, not cash or deposits. The federal government has borrowed and spent those funds and will have to increase taxes or create new obligations, i.e., increase national debt, to repay those IOUs. Corporations regulated by a government agency such as the SEC must measure and report those obligations on their financial statements. Omitting that information would result in charges of issuing fraudulent financial statements, and other transgressions. The government, however, escapes such scrutiny and I’m unaware of any official tracking of these unfunded liabilities. I’ve been reviewing estimates of unfunded liabilities for over a decade and am comfortable with $220 trillion as a reasonable current estimate of total U.S. obligations. This includes both “national debt” and as well as “unfunded liabilities.” That total is what worries me most. Some would solve this problem by simply taxing the richest Americans. But if we confiscated all the wealth of the top 1% of U.S. households, we could pay off the national debt, but after doing so, however, the entire unfunded liability of almost $200 trillion would remain. Thirty percent of our national wealth would have disappeared, and we couldn’t look to those rich folks for taxes or investment capital. If the President’s budget request is indicative of the left-wing plan for future spending, we can expect a huge fiscal nightmare very soon. We need to do all we can to “stand athwart” this process, as instructed by the late William F. Buckley Jr. myslantonthings.com Steve Bakke, Fort Myers Proper Method To Lay Decking Wood Dear James: I am building a large new L-shaped deck. I am not sure about how to position and attach the decking boards because of the L shape. Do you have any tips? -- Greg S. Dear Greg: Fitting and attaching the decking boards is usually the easiest part of a deck building project. An Lshaped deck makes it a bit more complicated, but still doable. Locating the posts and the joists properly is particularly important for a strong, stable deck with no sagging. Once you have the posts and joists installed, protect them from rot and insect damage prior to laying the decking. Even though the lumber for the joists should be pressure-treated, the pressure treatment may not have fully penetrated the wood. This is often true with lumber made from fir. The nails or screws, which attach the deck boards, slightly split the top of the joists and this allows moisture to enter deep into the wood. In order to protect the joists from this potential moisture damage, cut plastic film into long, narrow strips. The strips should be wide enough to cover the top of the joists. Three inches wide is a good target. Staple these strips over the top of the joists before installing the decking boards. For the best appearance, select the proper length decking boards for the specific deck. If the deck is short enough so that one decking board can span it, use single boards that are at least one inch longer than the deck. This will provide some overhang for a smooth trim-cut edge. In your case, with a large deck, you will need several boards to span the entire length. Don't just buy the longest boards possible and then use shorter pieces to finish the span. Select a variety of board lengths to create a random pattern of joints and don't make any of them too short. Just use your judgment as to what combination of lengths looks good. You have two options of where to start laying the boards: either at the house wall or the deck rim. Starting at the rim is easier because you do not have to plan the location of each board. If there is space for only a narrow board at the house, it will be supported well and won't look bad. On the other hand, if you start at the house, plan the spacing of the boards. You don't want to attach all the boards and then find you have room for only a very narrow board at the outer rim. This board will be difficult to attach securely, and it will look bad. At the rim edge, snap a chalk line across the joists at the location of the edge of the first board plus 1/4 inch. This extra quarter inch allows you to see the line when you are laying the first row of boards. Attach them at every fifth joist and then check to make sure everything is straight and even. When you are satisfied, screw them in with two screws to every joist. Space the screws the same distance from each edge of each board for a symmetric fastener pattern. Use spacer blocks for uniform spacing between the boards. James Dulley
