Thereby, she assumed all financial responsibilities! There is a contract that Hillary signed specifically that states that Hillary is the ONLY ONE who can distribute the funds collected...and the ONLY one who may make purchases...she controlled EVERYTHING! I thought a political candidate could not “own” their committee, the Democrap National Committee..!? From POLITICO, by Donna Brazile, 11/2/17... “The agreement—signed by Amy Dacey, the former CEO of the DNC, and Robby Mook with a copy to Marc Elias—specified that in exchange for raising money and investing in the DNC, Hillary would control the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised. Her campaign had the right of refusal of who would be the party communications director, and it would make final decisions on all the other staff. The DNC also was required to consult with the campaign about all other staffing, budgeting, data, analytics, and mailings.” Hillary’s signature is on the original contract...I saw it! Now ...that being true... I exposed that tidbit when it happened in 2016, if my memory serves me right?! Just to show you the scoundrel that piece of crap Hillary is, she gave Brazile no warning, whatsoever. Then that other piece of human excrement, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, told Brazile, “Everything is fine”. The party was two million dollars in debt and again from that same article on POLITICO, “What?” I screamed. She had good reason...she just took over the DNC! And didn’t know Hillary BOUGHT IT!? “I am an officer of the party and they’ve been telling us everything is fine, and they were raising money with no problems.” That wasn’t true, she said. Officials from Hillary’s campaign had looked at the DNC’s books. Obama left the party $24 million in debt—$15 million in bank debt and more than $8 million owed to vendors after the 2012 campaign—and had been paying that off very slowly. What’s that tell you about the den of thieves... they would eat their own children!? Then Hillary hired and directed Fusion GPS to draw up a derogatory dossier...eventually the Steele Dossier evolves. I don’t know all the specifics but here are the basic FACTS...the Steele Dossier is all lies and accuses Trump, Hillary’s opponent for President of the US, of colluding with a foreign government, Russia, and put forth the Steele Dossier to prove Trump interfered in the Presidential election. How we know it’s a phony document... the CEO of Fusion GPS said so, under oath! It gets better... a DOJ Attorney, Bruce Ohr’s wife WORKS FOR FUSION GPS AND WORKED ON THE FREAKING DOSSIER?! Do you believe she never shared that with her husband...? She and her husband BOTH are guilty of several felonies and they both know it. Think about that for a minute. Ohr and his wife are party to withholding crucial information that they, UNDOUBTEDLY, knew was false and going to be used against Donald Trump! They were party to Misprisions of serious Felonies! And could have been responsible for the entire election blowing up, based upon LIES! They knew the Dossier was BULL SHIT. They must be arrested as well and flipped! Or go to jail! My opinion, the entire staff at Fusion GPS should be charged with several Title 18 Sections starting with wire fraud, mail fraud and collusion to interfere in a Presidential election! Is everybody guilty of Misprision of a Felony at Fusion GPS? FBI Director Comey signed off on the search warrant, which is 90% relying on the Steele Dossier which he had to know where it came from... as “true and accurate” to the best of his knowledge. This document(s) had to be presented as evidence before the FISA Judge. Either Strzok or McCabe had to present it to Comey who had to approve it, return it to our two heroes McCabe and Strzok, who had to present it to the FISA Cont. on pg. 2

Before Trump was sworn in, he asked Comey, on National TV, what he thought about the Steele Dossier and Comey surprised EVERYBODY when he, Comey, bailed out and said,” I believe it is salacious and unverified”, a confession if there ever was one!!!!! The SOB knew he was caught; the jig is up...and he is looking for a way out!!!!! Comey SIGNED THE FREAKING THING less than two months earlier, October 2016! And that was the first time heads of agency had to also sign...UNDER OATH... ever...why? Put the FISA court judge under oath and ask him why...why did FISA require heads of agencies to sign under OATH! That and then somebody, I believe McCabe AND Strzok, presented the request for the search warrant, probably as Affiant, for the first wiretap on Carter Page, ALL of which had to be signed and sworn to by all the pertinent FBI officials and DOJ officials... Sally Yates, Rosenstein being signors! Because the FISA COURT didn’t trust the FBI OR DOJ...and eventually the FISA found that they were right... they couldn’t be trusted. They were not...they lied, they cheated, they falsified documents and then presented them to a federal, FISA judge swearing they are true to the best of their ability, “I swear to God”. That’s a criminal and attempt and successful, conspiracy, ACT OF TREASON...if I ever saw one and several other felonies! ALL the Affiants HAD TO SWEAR... UNDER OATH... that their application and sworn statement, “Are true and accurate to the best of their ability”! They knew or should have known... LET THE TRIAL JURY DECIDE! LET A TRIAL JURY DECIDE... THAT’S WHYWE HAVE TRIALS. DO NOT THINK WE NEED TO DISCLOSE ALL THE EVIDENCE TO ARREST THESE SCOUNDRELS AND DO NOT GO TO ANY GRAND JURY FOR ANYWARRANTS...BE INVESTIGATORS ...GET ARREST AND SEARCH WARRANTS AND NOT BENCH WARRANTS! The first search warrant is illegal and has NOT been before ANY impartial jury. I’ll bet my life that the FISA court judge who signed that warrant would testify that without the fabricated Steel Dossier, the government did not have PC, and he would NOT have signed any warrants. If he doesn’t testify to that ...make him a co-conspirator because anybody who has reviewed the so called “evidence”, internal investigations by the FBI and DOJ have concluded that there is no PC without the Steele Dossier. So, we are not just talking about the felonies that ALL the signers committed...oh ...no... it goes MUCH deeper. You see we have numerous, highest, law enforcement and judicial officers conspiring to overthrow an election, the Constitution and America. It’s a conspiracy of epic proportions involving Hillary, FBI Director, DOJ Attorneys, a Presidential candidate, other top executives of the FBI, Obama himself, and a FISA Judge...IF... he still believes the Steele Dossier is valid PC. In which case...make him a subject and co-conspirator. I personally believe that the FISA Judge would NOT have signed for a warrant without the Dossier and/or he had known then what he now knows about that Dossier! Understand, it is a proven fact, the Dossier is invalid, fabricated, paid for by the opposition candidate, Hillary...who most probably used DNC funds! GET HIS TESTIMONY UNDER OATH...NOW...in a District away from WDC, where we use as venue!!!! These subjects committed Treason by trying to overthrow our government. They plotted, conspired, they acted and committed Overt Acts...Treason is the charge! By obtaining NUMEROUS illegal wiretaps on innocent US Citizens using a fabricated document and law, the FISA Court, which was created to protect...not to destroy innocent US Citizens... denying them Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness and an unsuccessful raid on our Constitution. The way to handle this coup is to bring charges on the best evidence and that is Hillary, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Yates and Rosenstein. The head of the snake we will deal with later! My money is, if they are smart, Strzok and McCabe will deal and come clean because Comey has already thrown McCabe under the bus. If they are smart, they will ask for immunity and GIVE it to them ...we have to nail Comey...he deserves what he gets. McCabe and Strzok are sort of victims, although we (the real Agents) would never have done what they did. If the two of them stay together and testify honestly... Comey will face the death penalty! Arrest them NOW ...dammit... and stop jerking around...you are killing this case by waiting!! And execute search warrants! They will talk...Obama and Comey are already talking...make the deals...get off your asses... Understand, you do NOT have to disclose any more to arrest than PC ...what we need for arrest warrants and search warrants. Which we should have ALREADY executed!!! AND STOP MAKING YOUR CASES TO THE PUBLIC...for Christ’s sakes. DON’T try the cases in the public! Let the courts figure that out when all the evidence is in. If we had gone public... we NEVER did that...we would have been fired in the blink of an eye, if Hoover were alive. We give the Grand Jury enough PC to indict when the time comes... you have many interviews that will be very “telling”, many deals to be made...all to get the “head of the snake”! Speaking about Hoover...you lawmen will never be successful if you do not reclaim the CRIMINAL cases ...you need to stay sharp, learn “how to” with informants, learn the law, what you can’t do. Here’s some examples... you do not take a felony case to a Magistrate...EVER. They are NOT federal judges, appointed by the President. You go to the Chief Judge...dumb asses! Then learn the federal rules for search warrants... you broke EVERY one on every search warrant you executed. Before you SIGN a search warrant/ affidavit...make certain not only what YOU SWORE to but be sure the others are correct as well. Before you arrest somebody for a violation READ the Section of Title 18 you want to enforce and cover all the elements. Don’t bring your girlfriend or CNN to any arrests or search warrants... how much dumber can we get?! Since Comey did away with criminal violations...what he did was to intentionally break the tie between the FBI Agents and the public. Without the faith and trust of the public, law enforcement is dead! That’s why he eliminated the direct contact with real people (complaint agents) answering the phones, working with other law enforcement, all calls forwarded to HQ. The criminal cases you have never worked, and which ARE the backbone of the real FBI. I’m talking about bank robbery, UFAP (look it up it) and 76 cases (Escape Federal Prisoner), Interstate Theft, Hobbs Act, Kidnapping, IO Program with photos in post offices, Top 10 program ...were...the best cases to work to stay well trained, a good shot and the best way to “make informants”. Big Carlos Pass Bridge will close to vehicles intermittently beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, through 6 a.m. the following morning to allow crews to set bridge beams connecting the new bridge to Estero Island. The contractor expects multiple closures during this time, lasting approximately 30 minutes each. Motorists should anticipate delays and are encouraged to seek alternative routes and avoid the area when possible. If required due to weather, the work will be rescheduled to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, through 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21. This work is a part of Lee County’s project to construct a new bridge over Big Carlos Pass, from Estrellita Drive on Fort Myers Beach to the Lovers Key State Park bayside entrance on Lovers Key. The new bridge will replace the existing moveable bridge over Big Carlos Pass with a fixed span bridge that will provide a vertical navigation clearance of 60 feet. The new bridge will include one travel lane in each direction, bicycle lanes, a six-footwide sidewalk along the north side of Estero Boulevard, and a 10-foot-wide shared use path along the south side of Estero Boulevard. A parking area with access to the Lovers Key State Park will be included on the southeast side of the bridge. The project also includes relocation of existing infrastructure for Lee County Utilities and Bonita Springs Utilities. The project began in Summer 2023 with estimated completion in Summer 2026. And you caught all the subjects and took it to trial and WON. GET ALL THE CRIMINAL VIOLATIONS WE LOST ...BACK!!! Do away with computer answered phones...I can’t tell you how many cases we broke/solved by answering the phone. For example, I developed a source by answering the phone who led us to some of the biggest arrests and recoveries in the history of the FBI. Director Hoover personally congratulated me on solving an armed robbery by an IO Fugitive (look it up, IO), who shot it out with a NYPD Uniform and killed him. I answered the phone, helped him out of a jam and he gave me that IO fugitive...1,500 miles away from the shooting and one year later...AND in my first office! First Office Agents were not allowed to work IO fugitive case but because I had already arrested a bank robber minutes after the robbery still with the shot gun and all the money... arrested several fugitives, the SAC Roland Trent thought I could handle it...and made an exception! The bad guy went for his gun, and I fought to take it away and he lost. That’s the kind of stuff all of you are missing... you should want to do...solve cases. My partner and I rescued a 5-year-old little girl...Tondalaya Jones...who was the lead story ...in the country. I found her in a bedroom, she jumped into my arms and squeezed me tight and said, “Please don’t let me go”. That’s one of the cases... I’ll never forget. A case I’d like to forget, but can’t, was in Buffalo and Supervisor of the BR squad... we went from an explosion in a FEDEX office, with numerous killed, to four more explosions at different places, and finally stopped the sixth without any more deaths. That was solved with the help of several citizens and the actions of all the agencies working together with ATF and Erie County EOD successfully stopping another explosion with no more deaths...we solved it. We must work together with all the other law agencies and departments...that’s NOT...what has been going on...that has to change! The public isn’t aware of this, but the Buffalo FBI was the first to solve the Oklahoma City Bombing case. A citizen came to the office and talked to the Complaint Agent and solved the case. This citizen identified a sketch in the newspaper as Tim McVeigh, and he was positive of it! After a few law enforcement checks, I changed the Title from UNSUB to Tim McVeigh. That enabled us to confirm in less than 30 minutes that Tim McVeigh was arrested by a very alert OKC police officer on a routine vehicle stop. Tim was driving away from KC... he had a gun with no permit and was arrested! His name was entered in NCIC, and we got a hit...boy did we...and he was scheduled to be released in an hour. Carrying a gun with no Oklahoma permit is not as serious as NY. Don’t get me wrong but FBI OKC and ATF also get credit... however ...we were definitely first because I made the Title change...sort of a pride thing with my old friend in NYO, Danny Coulson, Case Agent and Assistant Director, who was at OKC running the case. The citizen who doesn’t want his identity known is the real hero, God Bless him! Get the Agents you want to keep into the Academy! Teach them how to investigate criminal cases and become real FBI Agents and write up arrest warrants, search warrants, learn the Best Evidence Rules, Rule 41, make arrests, learn how to make felony stops...all the things they need to know. And turn them loose on the 15 violations Comey and Mueller gave away! AG Bondi, if you do the Grand Jury deal...it will be dragged out, held up and 3 ½ years later they will come back with No True Bill. On the other hand, if you do what I suggest, use what you have now for PC, pick your venue, there is plenty, get arrest warrants and do searches with some OLDER Agents who have worked criminal cases (good luck with that), and do some HARD interviews! By getting the Magistrate/ Commissioner Warrant and presenting, we can enter hearsay through one Agent to the Grand Jury, in a Republican District, say Florida, and you will get a True Bill without cumbersome witnesses after witnesses ...that will bog down a relatively EASY case! The crimes committed were against the United States of America and venue can be any place in the United States. Pick a good one! If someone marries just to become a citizen or violates marriage laws, like incest (incest is against our federal laws) ...arrest, deportation IS mandatory...what about to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar? It’s a topic that delights some people, angers others, and confuses just about everyone. I’ve discussed it many times in the past. But I guess it’s time to clarify things once again. One form of “privatizing” Social Security has to do with how the fund’s assets are invested. Some claim that Social Security should be managed more like other public pension funds. Most of those funds have a diversified portfolio, with a variety of investments. But every nickel of Social Security assets is invested, by law, in U.S. Treasury notes, considered by everyone the safest place to stash your cash. What most folks who advocate putting Social Security funds into private markets can’t comprehend is the immense size of the Social Security trust funds. Compared to large public pension funds (like many teachers’ retirement funds or police and firefighter funds), Social Security is like Fort Knox, and these public funds are just big piggy banks. Those funds may have millions or even billions of dollars in assets. But Social Security has trillions. That’s a big difference, and you simply can’t compare them. Or put it another way. Social Security accounts for approximately one-fourth of the entire federal budget of the United States. You just don’t take a quarter of our country’s budget and put it on Wall Street. After all, would you want the federal government, via the Social Security trust fund, to be the major owner of Chevron stock or the primary investor in Phillip Morris? A more reasonable approach to “privatizing” Social Security would allow individual taxpayers to use private, or managed accounts, to supplement future Social Security benefits. And when you hear talk of such proposals, you must remember to ask this question: Is it a “carve out” plan or an “add-on” plan? There is a huge difference. Both plans involve requiring younger workers to contribute money to an IRA-type account that would offer several investment options. The worker could choose a safe but generally low-yielding account or a riskier but potentially more rewarding one. The investments from this account would then be used to augment Social Security retirement benefits. But the difference lies in the funding details. In a carve-out plan (these are usually the plans touted by Republicans), the worker’s IRA investment would be funded with a portion of his or her Social Security payroll tax. For example, currently, 6.2% of a worker’s salary is deducted for Social Security taxes. A carve-out plan might specify that 4.2% continue to be used to fund Social Security, while 2% would be funneled into the private account. In other words, this plan gets its funding by carving it out of the current Social Security system. On the other hand, an “addon” plan (the plans usually touted by Democrats) would require a worker to contribute an extra amount to fund the private account investments. So, 6.2% of his or her salary would still be deducted to finance Social Security benefits. But in addition, that worker would be required to chip in an extra percentage point or two of salary to fund the Social Security supplement. So this plan gets its funding by adding on to the current Social Security system. Each plan has its pluses and minuses. The downside to an add-on plan is that more outof-paycheck spending would be required from workers to fund their retirement portfolio. But the advantage of the plan is its greater rewards. Most “add-on” proposals are modeled after the highly successful “Thrift Savings Plan,” an add-on IRA that has been available to federal government workers for years and has given many of them the kind of financial security in retirement not usually associated with middle-class civil servants. The upside to “carve out” proposals is that no extra financial burden would be placed on young workers to finance the supplemental benefits. But the often unexplained downside is that huge reductions would be necessary in future Social Security benefits. It’s just simple math. If you are going to carve out about one-third of the Social Security payroll tax to fund a worker’s private supplement, then obviously future Social Security benefits for that same worker are going to have to be cut by at least one-third. But carve-out advocates always say they won’t cut benefits. And that leads to impossible transition costs. Remember: Social Security is a “pay-as-you-go” program, meaning the money deducted from today’s workers’ paychecks is used to fund benefits to current retirees. So, if you cut the amount of money going into the system, and say you will not cut benefits, you must somehow come up with the funds to pay those promised benefits to CURRENT AND FUTURE retirees. And if taxes aren’t raised to cover those costs, experts estimate the transition costs would add trillions of dollars to the federal debt. (That’s what sunk former President George W. Bush’s carve-out privatization plan in the early 2000s.) But here is the most important point I need to make about proposals for private accounts -- whether carve-out or add-on. Although they are often mentioned in the same breath as other proposals to “save Social Security,” they do nothing of the sort. Social Security’s long-range financing problems are the result of baby boomers quickly turning into senior boomers. For years, Social Security has been working extremely well with a ratio of three workers supporting one retiree. But by the time all the boomers retire, there will be only two workers supporting each retiree. The system simply cannot work AS IT’S CURRENTLY STRUCTURED at a two-to-one ratio. As I’ve pointed out many times to my readers, many relatively modest proposals for reform will keep the system running for many more generations. All those possible solutions involve either slight tax increases or moderate cuts in benefits. None of them involves the creation of private accounts for Social Security beneficiaries. I am not saying the private accounts are a bad idea. I am saying that they have nothing to do with the future financial health of the program. But Will the Trump DOJ Charge Obama and Hillary with Treason -- a Death Penalty Offense? Hillary was right. In 2016, when Hillary was running against Donald J. Trump, it was rumored she said to her Marxist partners in crime, “If Trump wins, we’re all going to hang from nooses.” I believe Hillary was desperate to stop Trump because she knew the crimes Obama, Biden and herself had carried out during the preceding eight years constituted high crimes and misdemeanors, and treason. Here are a few of the highlights: -- They opened the borders to flood America with illegal aliens desperate for welfare and free health care for life, who would vote Democrat forevermore, to keep the checks coming, and therefore turn America into a one-party state. -- The “Obamacare” scam that literally destroyed health care for every working-class and middle-class American, and raised health care prices through the roof, in order to give it away free to every poor Democrat voter and millions of illegal aliens. -- Benghazi -- a PR disaster that led to the deaths of Americans to cover up a gun-running operation between the Obama administration and Islamic terrorist groups. -- Pallets of cash handed to Iran on an unmarked cargo plane -- billions of dollars that would be used to fund terrorism all over the world. -- Hillary -- with Obama’s approval -- allegedly extorted over $100 million from Russian businessmen to the Clinton Foundation, in return for giving away a large portion of America’s uranium stock. And I’m guessing Obama took his cut in return for protecting Hillary from prosecution. -- Hunter and his dad V.P. Joe Biden -- with Obama’s approval -- likely extorted tens of millions from Ukraine and China in return for favors. Again, I’m guessing Obama took his cut of the bribes - in return for protecting the Biden Crime Family from prosecution. -- And I’ve saved the best for last- because it involved me personally. Obama used the IRS to try to destroy me. But I was just the first of many victims of Obama’s IRS attacks. Obama sent his IRS goons to destroy all his enemies -- GOP donors, conservative PACs, Christian groups, patriot groups, pro-Israel groups, Catholic pro-life groups, even veterans groups. I also believe Obama’s use of the IRS as his personal Gestapo allowed him to bring GOP donations to a trickle, starve GOP candidates and steal the 2012 election from Mitt Romney. And never forget my buddy, former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who I believe was framed by Obama and sent to prison to cover up the fraudulent real estate transactions of Tony Rezko that threatened to destroy Obama’s presidential ambitions. Obama and Hillary (and their henchmen) sold out our country, sold us down the river for their own personal gain. These abuses of power constituted “capital crimes”- i.e., TREASON. Hillary was worried about hanging for her crimes -- because she knew the punishment for treason is the DEATH PENALTY. And so, to cover up this trail of extortion, fraud, abuse of power, high crimes and misdemeanors, and treason- that’s when the REAL criminal conspiracy started! I believe this is what happened: -- Obama and Hillary ordered the CIA and NSA to spy on presidential candidate Trump in order to steal the 2016 election. -- After Trump’s shocking upset victory, they framed him for “Russian Collusion” (otherwise known as Russiagate). This was a coup -- an attempt to overthrow the president of the United States. That led to two false impeachment trials. -- And it appears Obama and Hillary coordinated this coup with Russian intelligence operatives. They worked with our sworn enemy to subvert the will of the American people. -- And when even all that didn’t work, Obama engineered the rigging and theft of the 2020 election, with help from China and the CCP. I believe they partnered with China to send Covid to the USA, which led to the introduction of mail-in ballots, ballot drop boxes and ballot harvesting (not to mention a destroyed Trump economy and millions of deaths and illnesses they blamed on Trump). It appears China created fake mail-in ballots in conspiracy with Democrats to steal the election. Once they defeated Trump by stealing the 2020 election, Obama and company weaponized the U.S. government to frame and destroy Trump and his allies. They indicted him four times on false charges. New York State almost bankrupted him, while the feds almost put him away in prison for life. -- Meanwhile Obama opened the borders like never before in history, probably to flood America with terrorists, criminals and Chinese military-age males. The goal was to intentionally destroy America using the Cloward-Piven strategy we learned as classmates at Columbia University. And as a bonus, this led to “The Great Replacement” -- the theory that millions of illegal aliens would overwhelm American voters so that no Republican could ever be elected again. -- Obama filled the Biden administration with his communist cronies -- who then conspired to cover-up the incapacitation of Biden’s brain. The list goes on and on ... -- The Green New Deal was massive fraud to loot the treasury and hand the money to Democrat donors. -- The O’Biden administration also banned, censored and silenced conservatives, patriots and Covid vaccine critics like the Soviet KGB. We still don’t know who really murdered Seth Rich ... or if Obama’s chef really drowned. They may have both been murdered because of the crimes they saw and heard. How many capital crimes is that? Now the question is will the Trump DOJ do what needs to be done? This is the biggest criminal conspiracy in U.S. history. This is a treason case. And this is either a death penalty case, or life in Gitmo. Keep in mind, Obama and Hillary seem to have wanted Trump to die in prison. So, please don’t hesitate to file maximum charges for treason. Here’s my advice: Trump needs to name a special counselor immediately -- and set the jurisdiction of this case in Florida (the scene of the illegal Mar-a-Lago raid). The FBI needs to confiscate the passports of Obama and Hillary immediately. And Barack Obama needs to stand in front of a mirror to practice his mug shot. Trump set the bar superhuman high. Good luck to Obama. He’s gonna need it. Page 9 The Sun Bay Paper August 12, 2025 What Every Kid Needs to Know About Greed and Thankfulness If there is one thing that will ruin your kids’ lives, it’s greed. Teach them while they’re young how to pull the plug on greed and you will have prepared them in a very important way to not only survive but also thrive in the real world. You may want to start with this lesson: LESSON: HOW TO DEFEAT THE ENEMY THAT IS GREED As you get older, you are going to discover an enemy that everyone has to deal with at some time in his or her life. This enemy isn’t like the bad guy in your video game or the bully at school who tries hard to make everyone scared and miserable. Even though you cannot see this enemy, you can defeat it by the way you live and the choices you make. This enemy is “greed.” What is greed? The feeling of wanting everything you can think of is called greed. Greed is not a good thing. In fact, it’s like a very bad disease. It starts small and, if allowed to grow, it will take over your life. Greed will make you a very miserable person. Greed causes temper tantrums and makes people self-centered and arrogant. Greed is very sneaky. WHAT GREED FEELS LIKE You know that twinge of envy you felt when your best friend showed you her cool new phone? Or when another friend said really loudly at lunch how his dad is buying him a brand-new car for his 16th birthday? How about the day you find the new Christmas catalog in the mail -- the one with every cool thing in the whole world -- and you want every single thing in it. Multiply that feeling by 10 and you’ll have a good idea what full-blown greed feels like. It’s not good. THE PROBLEMWITH GREED The problem with greed is that it drives us to do things that are hazardous to our futures. Greed says it’s OK to have everything we want now and to figure out how to pay for it later. Greed whispers in our ears, telling us lies that make us unhappy with what we have, where we live or who we are. Greed is something everyone has to deal with, and the sooner you can learn how to defeat that enemy, the better off, and happier, you will be. THE ANTIDOTE FOR GREED “Antidote” is another word for “solution” or “treatment.” The antidote for a terrible ear infection is antibiotics. The antidote for greed is to be thankful for what you have already, not always wishing and hoping for things you do not have. You prove your gratitude when you are willing to give away part of the “3 Ts”: your time, your talent and your treasure. Everyone, no matter how young or poor, has some or all three. TIME You get 24 hours every day: 1,440 minutes or 864,000 seconds every single day! No more; never less. You can’t save some of that time today so you’ll have more time tomorrow. How you use your time every day is a reflection of your character. TALENT This is what you can do. Everyone has special talents -- things they are good at doing. There are things you can do easily that others have a difficult time achieving. It’s your talent, and you have been blessed with it. It doesn’t make you better than others, but it makes you unique. You are one of a kind. TREASURE This is what you have; your possessions. It’s your money, but also your toys, game systems, clothes, collections -- everything that you own. BECOME A GIVER If you have never been a giver, it may seem quite odd for me to suggest you should just give away any of your time, your talent or your stuff. But that is exactly what I mean. If you want to make sure you are never defeated by greed, learn to be a giver. When you give to others, it helps you to be grateful for what you have. Giving is the way to stop feeling sorry for yourself. Instead of misery, you feel joy. In place of dissatisfaction, you find contentment. GIVE YOUR TIME The way you give your time is to volunteer. There are lots of ways kids can volunteer to make their communities better. GIVE YOUR TALENT Think of ways you can do those things you’re really good at to make someone else’s life easier or more enjoyable. Perhaps it’s your church or school. It might be helping your grandparents understand their new smartphone, or washing windows for a neighbor in only the way you can. You are amazing! GIVE YOUR TREASURE Giving away part of your money and other possessions is quite simple. Observe a need, then do something about it. You can give to a homeless shelter, to a family going through difficult times, or to your church or other charitable organization. Become a giver. It will greatly improve your life. August 12, 2025 The Sun Bay Paper Page 10 Questions I’m Asked Over and Over Again In the 28 years I’ve been writing this column, I bet I’ve written 128 columns about the most common questions I get. However, I suppose not everyone is clipping those columns and pasting them into their Social Security scrapbook, because I keep getting the same questions repeatedly. Here comes column number 129, with answers to some of the questions I am most frequently asked. Q: I’m 62. My husband is 67 and getting Social Security. Can I file for spousal benefits on his record now and save my own until I’m 70? A: No, you can’t do that. Social Security law has a “deemed filing” rule. It essentially say this: If you file for a Social Security benefit, you are deemed to be filing for all other benefits you are due at the same time. So, in your case, if you did file for spousal benefits, you must file for your own benefits at the same time. You will be paid your own benefit first. Then, if you are due any extra benefits from your husband’s account, they will be tacked on to your monthly Social Security check. Q: I am 60 and not working. My husband recently died. Can I file for widow’s benefits now and save my own until I am 70? A: Yes, you can do that. That “deemed filing” rule I mentioned above does not apply to widows. So you can file for widow’s benefits now, and then switch to 100% of your own at full retirement age, or wait until 70 and get about 130%. Or, depending on the money amounts involved, you might be ahead to file for retirement benefits at age 62 (the earliest you can do that), and then at full retirement age, switch to 100% widow’s benefits. And FYI: widow’s claims cannot be done online. They must be filed in person by calling the Social Security Administration at 800772-1213. Q: If I die, what will my wife get? A: The answer depends on several factors. But assuming you die well after your full retirement age, and assuming your wife is over her full retirement age when you die, as a general rule, she will get what you were getting at the time of death. Quick example. You are 85 and getting $1,800 per month. Your wife is 82 and getting $1,200 per month. When you die, she will keep getting her $1,200, and then she will get an additional $600 in widow’s benefits. Q: I took my benefits at 70, so I get an extra 32% added to my retirement rate. When I die, will my wife’s widow’s benefit be based on my augmented age 70 rate, or on my full retirement rate? A: It will be based on your age 70 rate. And just to clarify a little further. A benefit paid to a spouse whose husband is still alive is based on his full retirement age rate. But as I just said, a widow’s benefit is based on the age 70 rate (assuming the husband waited until 70 to claim his benefits). Q: I am 62 and already retired. I was planning to wait until 67 to file for Social Security. But someone told me that I should file now because if I die before filing for benefits, my wife won’t get any widow’s benefits on my record. Is this true? A: No, it is not true. Assuming your wife meets all the eligibility requirements, she will get widow’s benefits whether you were getting Social Security before you died. Q: I’m already getting my Social Security but I’m still working. Will my additional income and the taxes I’m paying increase my Social Security check? A: It depends. Your original benefit was based on your average monthly wage using your highest 35 years of inflation-adjusted earnings. If the earnings you have now are higher than the lowest inflation-adjusted year used in your original computation, the SSA will drop out that lower year, add in the new higher year, and adjust your benefit accordingly. But don’t expect a windfall. Your benefit might go up by maybe $20 per month for a year of good earnings. Q: When my father died, why did we have to return his last check? A: Several rules come into play here. First, Social Security benefits have never been prorated. Second, benefits are always paid one month behind. And third, the law says you must live an entire month to be due a Social Security check for that month. Here is a quick example. John dies on Aug. 24. The Social Security check that comes in September (the payment for August) must be returned. That’s the downside to the lack of proration. But there are two upsides. One: Let’s say John started his benefits when he was 66 and that he turned 66 on June 22. He would get a check for the whole month of June, even though he was 66 for only eight days of the month. Two: If John left a widow, she would get widow’s benefits for the whole month of August, even though she was a widow for only seven days of the month.
