All Along Digital Version Margaritaville, a new 254room resort, has emerged on Fort Myers Beach, breathing life into the area with a coastal relaxed vibe, a nod to the late Jimmy Buff ett. It’s a class act. It’s top-notch. It’s high-end. And it has raised questions. Local business owner who’s very involved in the community, John Gavin, watched its rise with awe, witnessing its transformation into reality. “I’ve been watching from the beginning. It’s incredible it’s coming to fruition,” Gavin said. Despite nearing completion, signifi cant work remains, notably at the pool and beachside, promising a unique “cruise ship on land” experience. Chris Flagg, Chief Investment Offi cer of TPI Hospitality, the owners and developers of the resort, anticipates the resort will cater to the seasonal infl ux of visitors, contrasting sharply with the typical Florida Scrutinizes Contractor Fraud After Hurricanes Florida legislators are closely examining instances of fraud perpetrated by contractors following hurricanes Ian and Idalia. The Florida House Select Committee on Hurricane Resiliency and Recovery convened on Monday to address the escalating number of fraud cases involving contractors in the state. James Miller, Assistant State Attorney for Economic Crime and Chief of the Economic Crime Unit for the 20th Judicial Circuit (encompassing Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee counties), highlighted the increasing incidence of fraud victims falling prey to unscrupulous contractors. Miller proposed potential amendments to Florida law mandating the use of escrow accounts by contractors. Miller emphasized a prevalent issue in Florida where contractors engage in a kind of financial juggling act, depleting resources from one project to sustain another, resembling a Ponzi scheme. He noted that when these contractors exhaust their customer base, their businesses collapse. Miller advocated for statutory changes to safeguard not just homeowners but also subcontractors and material suppliers. State Attorney John Durrett, representing the 3rd Judicial Circuit covering Columbia, Dixie, Hamilton, Lafayette, A recent study published in the Journal of Medical Ethics delves into whether the negative sentiments directed towards the unvaccinated can be classifi ed as a form of scapegoating...... The COVID-19 pandemic has spurred extensive eff orts to curb its spread, with vaccinations playing a crucial role in reducing both mortality and transmission. However, the strong emphasis on vaccination has given rise to a noteworthy social phenomenon – the stigmatization and prejudice faced by those opting not to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Maja Graso, an assistant professor at the University of Groningen and one of the study’s authors, highlighted the motivation behind the research: “We have noticed that much of the existing research at that time focused on confl icts originating from people who discount COVID-19, believe in conspiracy theories, and generally undervalue the threat of the virus. However, what we found to be missing was an address to misinformation and the consequences stemming from overestimating the threat.” The study, comprising two segments, employed fi ctional characters with varying risk profi les and vaccination statuses to gauge public perceptions. In the fi rst study, participants evaluated characters with manipulated risk profi les and vaccination statuses. The results indicated that individuals were more likely to scapegoat the unvaccinated characters, irrespective of their risk profi les. The blame directed towards the unvaccinated was found to be disproportionate to their actual risk, Cont. pg 8 The Unvaccinated Cont. pg 3 Cont on pg 2 Margaritaville Opens: Is FMB On a New Trajectory? December 20, 2023 The Sun Bay Paper Page 2 hotel bar and restaurant setup. “Ahotel property with 254 rooms would have one bar and a couple of restaurants,” said Flagg. “We are built to accommodate the height of the season and 30,000 visitors,” he said. Expectations are high for Margaritaville to become a hub for winter vacations and spring breaks. Doe Homan, an Indiana resident and regular snowbird, sees potential for resurgence, particularly appealing to college students. “We needed this,” said Homan. “It’s going to be slow. But it will come back. My kids are in college, and this is the place to be.” No one can argue the commercial potential. But Margaritaville has a tricky question: Is the pricing out-of-reach for many locals? Jen Turbeville lived on OakridgeAvenue. She’s lost everything in last year’s storm. But she remains optimistic about what the resort will do for the community. “I’m so happy. It’s going to bring so much to the Island. It’s an important day for me,” she said. But are locals like Turbeville priced out. Is it a tourist trap? That’s not to discount the impact of the jobs and the fi nancial activity on the town’s recovery from Hurricane Ian. The resort employs 400 people, many of whom had lost jobs in the hospitality industry after Ian in 2022. Tourism is the lifeblood of FMB, and every new dollar brought in from outside the area has a money multiplier eff ect. Mayor DanAllers understands the economic reality. He said. “I’m excited for the TPI community. It’s been a long time coming. It’s great to see some smiling faces back at work.” But Margaritaville is an expensive project with a high overhead and investors to answer to. It’s unrealistic to expect the resort to off er substantial discounts. The pricing is well above the prevailing rates for food and beverage on FMB. Visitors and guests will pay a premium. And maybe tourists on vacation will be willing to pay. But the beachfront resort, which boasts a spa, six restaurants, and an expansive sunset terrace with Gulf views, is priced out of the market for many locals. For example, the menu and price list for the Coconut Telegraph coff ee shop resemble that of a Starbucks in Midtown Manhattan or the Loop in Chicago. Take a couple of friends for a cup of joe, and you’re looking at a $30 adventure. Tom Torgerson, co-CEO of TPI Hospitality, urged the public to visit the beachfront resort. He says they worked with residents and business owners to adapt their plans to the community. “We listened, we heard, they listened to us, they heard ... and we devised this resort that really, really fi ts,” he said. But does it?Acouple of notable “bones” are thrown at local businesses. Chocolattés on San Carlos supplies the coff ee. Island Girl Michelle Feldheimer, previously in Santini Plaza, will sell her line from kiosks around the resort property. Torgerson, also a Fort Myers Beach resident, wants to attract local dollars to the resort. “I can’t stress enough how important day visitors and evening visitors are to the resort. We’re built for that we’re built to be open to the public and easy parking,” he said. The resort has paid valet parking, free after 5 p.m. if a visitor spends $50 on food and drinks. (That will be easy and fun to do.) Torgerson said rooms will run from about $400 to $1,000, and pricing depends on the season. We know that post-Ian, we will never have the “old” Fort Myers Beach back. It will be something new and diff erent, it already is! But the big question for locals is, will that look more like Myrtle Beach or Palm Beach? For many, Margaritaville symbolizes a shift in Fort Myers Beach’s identity – from an accessible family destination to a more exclusive, elite spot. Ahigh-end resort like Margaritaville places FMB on a Palm Beach trajectory ....... only time will tell. Richard Luthmann Cont. from pg. 1 Grand Opening of Margaritaville

Page 3 December 20, 2023 with liberals more likely to engage in scapegoating compared to conservatives. In the second study, participants evaluated a low-risk male character who was either unvaccinated but had recovered from COVID-19 or had received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Surprisingly, the unvaccinated but recovered character received more blame, and this tendency was more pronounced among liberals. Graso emphasized the unexpected fi ndings: “We were surprised to fi nd that individuals consistently placed more blame on the unvaccinated, even under our most conservative scenario. Both characters, the recovered and vaccinated, are at low risk for hospitalization and are equally capable of spreading the virus. Yet, the unvaccinated but recovered character received more blame.” The study suggests that the negative sentiments directed towards the unvaccinated during the COVID-19 pandemic may indeed be a form of scapegoating rather than a justifi ed response to a perceived public health threat. Graso urged caution in navigating information and recognizing that misinformation can come from various sources, including one’s own political affi liations. While acknowledging the study’s limitations, such as the potential lack of generalization to other populations or changes in dynamics since the data collection in early 2022, Graso emphasized the need for further research on risk misperceptions stemming from both underestimating and overestimating health threats. The study, by shedding light on scapegoating judgments, encourages a nuanced understanding of the complexities surrounding public perceptions of vaccination during the ongoing pandemic. The Sun Bay Paper In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News, Hollywood icon Tom Selleck didn’t hold back in expressing his admiration for Donald J. Trump, going so far as to declare him the best President of the United States to date. Selleck emphatically stated, “I’m completely sure that he is the best so far. I’m saying I like this guy.” “He’s an answer to our problems. We need to get behind him. The Republicans need to unite behind this man. Offering a candid perspective, Selleck asserted that Trump is the solution to the nation’s problems, urging fellow Republicans to rally behind him. He stressed the necessity for someone to rebuild the country and bring it back to its foundational principles, declaring, “We need somebody to go in and reconstruct us in a sort of way, get us back to where we were, who we need to be.” Selleck highlighted Trump’s unique qualities, describing him as “funny, playful, and colorful,” but, above all, “honest.” According to the legendary actor, Trump’s decision to run for president was motivated by a sincere conviction to restore prosperity to the nation. “No frills, no fuss, only candid truths,” emphasized Selleck. Expressing frustration with talk show hosts critical of Trump, Selleck questioned their motives, suggesting that Trump represents a form of freedom that perplexes and frightens them. In a bold statement, he said, “I would say ‘f*ck you’ to all of them. To all that are criticizing him for no reason and want him to resign for no reason. Just go to hell, all of you!” Appealing to Americans who witnessed what he perceives as the nation’s decline during the Obama years, Selleck passionately implored them to fight for Donald Trump. He asserted, “He will not let us down. I pray for all good people to see clearly what faces us now. The right vote will save our nation.” Selleck also commended Trump’s resilience in maintaining a positive demeanor despite facing attacks from all sides. He noted, “He has individuals attacking him from every side, but he has this... inspirational attitude. It’s really strong.” This candid and impassioned endorsement by Tom Selleck adds a prominent voice to the ongoing discourse surrounding Donald Trump’s presidency, illustrating a fervent belief in the former president’s leadership and his potential to rejuvenate the nation. December 20, 2023 The Sun Bay Paper Page 4 Letter to The Editor Editorial To the Editor, It seems like the left can do no wrong and the media keeps backing them up. At a press conference on Dec. 6, Steven Nelson of the New York Post was selected by President Biden to ask a question, which proved to be a mistake on Biden’s part! He asked “There’s polling by the Associated Press that shows that almost 70% of Americans, including 40% of Democrats, believe that you acted either illegally or unethically in regards to your family’s business interests. Can you explain to the Americans, amid this impeachment inquiry, why you interacted with so many of your son and brother’s foreign business associates?” Biden’s reply was, “I’m not going to comment on that. I did not,” said the president. “And it’s just a bunch of lies.” Nelson began to respond: “You didn’t interact with ...” Biden said: “They’re lies!” Nelson fi nished: “...any of their business associates?” Biden repeated: “I did not. They’re lies!” WTF? There is proof! Hunter’s business associates have come forward and confi rmed speaking with the President! And Yet the media just prints his response to give it credibility! Sad really! And just a few days ago, Harvard President Claudine Gay was accused of plagerism on her thesis and there are multiple posts on X to prove she did. Yet she denies, denies, and denies.!!! Surely the media will cover for her because she is a Liberal. This country is in TROUBLE ! Thanks for doing what you do and get the real truth out. Quote of the Week “It’s never too late to become who you want to be. I hope you live a life that you’re proud of, and if you fi nd that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start over.” —F. Scott Fitzgerald Dear Editor, These terror attacks and campus shootings are just more ‘amunition’ for the powers that be to take away more of our rights! Have you seen this: Israel Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi is promoting regulations that would allow him to direct police to arrest civilians, remove them from their homes, or seize their property if he believes they have spread information that could harm national morale or served as the basis for enemy propaganda. So what defi nes ‘information that could harm national moral’ Does questioning the Government qualify? A social media post? These kind of freedom of speach violations are unpresidented. Larry Cooper Remembering the Meaning of Christmas The past year has seen much darkness. We saw terror attacks and an unresolved situation in Israel, with tensions not seen since the 1970s. There were earthquakes and fl oods pummeling millions domestically and abroad. We have the ongoing devastation of Ukraine and a diaspora of survivors. And we have seen a multitude of other human tragedies. We have fed the hungry, given drink to the thirsty, sheltered the homeless, and buried the dead. But in the face of darkness, we must remember the true meaning of Christmas. And in a word, it can be stated with simplicity - Light. The Light of the World, and the Light of the Earth. A beacon in the darkness. America is a country built upon the Judeo-Christian tradition. Without it, nothing can be properly understood, from our foundational documents to our fundamental rights derived from natural law. This truth was understood by the crew of Apollo 8, the fi rst manned mission to the Moon. They entered lunar orbit on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1968. That evening, the astronauts did a live television broadcast. William Anders: “For all the people on Earth the crew of Apollo 8 has a message we would like to send you”. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.” Jim Lovell: “And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the fi rst day. And God said, Let there be a fi rmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the fi rmament, and divided the waters which were under the fi rmament from the waters which were above the fi rmament: and it was so. And God called the fi rmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.” Frank Borman: “And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called the Seas: and God saw that it was good.” Borman then added, “And from the crew of Apollo 8, we close with good night, good luck, a Merry Christmas, and God bless all of you - all of you on the good Earth.” We should remember the Light was fi rst revealed to the Israelites in their covenant detailed in the Hebrew Scriptures. Under successive oppression from the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, they still kept testament to the Light. Christmas fulfi lls the prophet Isaiah’s words: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel.” In our modern days, we are enlightened and hear the message from the mouths of babes. After many frustrations, Charlie Brown calls out to anyone to explain to him the true meaning of Christmas. Linus reminds us all exactly why we celebrate: “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the fi eld, keeping watch over their fl ock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall fi nd the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.” To remember the meaning of Christmas, we must celebrate the Light and that the Divine came into this world as fl esh: “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.” In a world in turmoil, where legions of darkness seek to surround and destroy the righteous, Christmas is our beacon. It is our reminder that good will prevail over evil. Christmas reminds us that God blessed us with his only Son, Jesus Christ, who brought us an Eternal Light that prevails over all darkness. Our entire history and tradition as Americans are rooted in this core fundament. And now, more than ever, we must never forget it. From all of us at Sun Bay Paper to you, your families, and your loved ones, we wish you tidings of joy and peace. We commemorate the coming of Christ as our Light in a world of darkness. And we remember that Good will triumph over evil so long as we stay the course. We wish you a very Merry Christmas. Richard Luthmann, Editor in Chief

Page 5 The Sun Bay Paper December 20, 2023 At age 21 Hussein Obama took his wife’s advice and announced that even though he was born Muslim, raised Muslim for 21 years, believes there nothing more beautiful than the Islam call to prayer and his Book of Faith denounces those who become “unbelievers (infi dels)”and threaten them with death...he is now a Christian! The advice she gave him was that if he wants to run for offi ce, he will have to become Christian. No problem, he just fl ipped a switch and became a true, devoted, Christian. Now here’s a little “tidbit” non-Muslims, infi - dels, know nothing about unless they have read the very diffi cult book to understand, the Koran. Islam, according to the Koran, allows lying about anything that is necessary to further the teachings of Islam and Mohamed. According to Islamic law, all male children born to a Muslim male are, by law, born Muslim...no choice...and that is why to become a traitor to Islam one must denounce Islam, Allah in front of a Muslim gathering and face the threat of death for committing the most despicable act a Muslim can commit... denouncing Islam to become Christian, leaving Islam...that’s mandatory death! Again, now, if it’s done to further Islam...it’s allowed! Why do you think those “liars”, my opinion, Tlaib, Omar and the other Muslim Congresswomen, took their “Oaths of Offi ce” on the Koran...they feared death if they swore allegiance to the Constitution or any other potentate. That’s correct, they all lied and never swore allegiance to the good old USA. If I’m wrong, tell them they MUST take their Oaths over and swear allegiance to America, on the Bible and denounce allegiance to Islam and all other potentates (read the US Citizens Oath) to become an American Citizen! You must understand that there is a fatal fl aw with any Muslim swearing allegiance to America and Islam... America’s foundation is based upon the separation of Church and State and Islam IS NOT! So how can one swear to two completely opposed beliefs... separation of Church and State and unifi cation of Church and State? It’s easy...lie! I present the above to try to help you understand why we must NOT allow a Muslim, Hussein Obama, to continue to run this country...any longer...and in my opinion...oh yes, he is! What possible good for America can come out of what they did when Obiden came into offi ce and reversed all that President Trump did, in two years...what good...? Would you open all the doors of your home and allow anybody in without fi nding out who they are? Would you encourage them by off ering free food, free expensive lodging, money, healthcare, education, fl ights to anywhere they want, an easy way to become a dependent member of your family?! Well folks, isn’t that exactly what Obiden/Obama have been doing since Obiden became the faux President that Hussein said he wanted? No one in their right mind would do to America what those two scoundrels have done and continue to do. The evidence that they are going to “try” to overthrow our government is overwhelming, just look at the facts. Obama’s favorite Professors at Columbia wrote a book on how to destroy our free enterprise, Constitutional Republic and they are following it to a “T”. They wrote to bankrupt America, spend every dime on anything you can think of no matter how wasteful it seems. Bankrupt all the Social Welfare programs by allowing everybody to jump in! Spend like a drunken sailor. cause chaos, insurrection at every chance there is. Create so much turmoil and problems that Martial Law must be declared, and the Government comes to the rescue...cut off essential supplies like medicine, food, electricity, communications... fossil fuels! Now do you understand what’s going on...what’s coming... if YOU do not ... FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO DO!? YOU MUST take back Law Enforcement. Take it away from every single George Soros backed, elected offi cial...all the mayors and all the Soros, Attorney Generals and District Attorneys and Judges. They are all unwittingly a part of the scheme ...except... as dumb as most are...they must see by now they are puppets being used, just like poor Joe, my opinion... did I say “poor”, sorry, I meant “wealthy”! Most important, urge your elected Representatives and Senators to stop the wasteful spending, secure the borders, enforce all the INS and entry laws that are being totally discarded by Obiden. AND NUMBER ONE...Use trained Republican and Democrat auditors on election day 2024 to obey the chain of custody of the paper votes cast and control of any voting machines used to complete real and secure audits comparing the number of paper ballots to the number of votes the computers report! If there is a discrepancy, seal the voting machines and ballots as they are evidence of a possible crime! Call the FBI, State police, any sworn law enforcement Agency to assist in the chain of custody of the evidence. Congress can provide the funding from the dump trucks full of money going to illegal aliens! December 20, 2023 The Sun Bay Paper Page 6 Bhagavan “Doc” Antle, 63, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, an American animal trainer, private zoo operator, and convicted felon, pleaded guilty Monday to a conspiracy to violate the Lacey Act and a conspiracy to launder money. The Lacey Act prohibits traffi cking of illegally taken wildlife, fi sh or plants, including animals protected under the Endangered Species Act. Antle is the owner and operator of The Institute for Greatly Endangered and Rare Species (T.I.G.E.R.S.), also known as the Myrtle Beach Safari, a 50-acre wildlife preserve that off ers tours and private encounters with wildlife. Antle is also the Director of the Rare Species Fund, a nonprofi t organization registered in South Carolina. “This plea is the product of exemplary collaboration between our law enforcement partners,” said U.S. Attorney Adair Boroughs for the District of South Carolina. “I commend our team for their work on this case who worked countless hours to unravel Antle’s sophisticated web of fi nancial crimes and interstate wildlife traffi cking. Our offi ce remains committed to protecting endangered animals from those who would exploit them for profi t.” Antle is accused of participating in a conspiracy to violate the Lacey Act between September 2018 and May 2020 by directing the sale or purchase of two cheetah cubs, two lion cubs, two tigers and one juvenile chimpanzee – all protected under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. Antle used bulk cash payments to hide the transactions and falsifi ed paperwork to show non-commercial transfers entirely within one state. Antle also requested that payments for endangered species be made to his nonprofi t so they could appear as “donations.” The investigation uncovered evidence of money laundering between February and April 2022, when Antle and a co-conspirator conducted fi nancial transactions with cash they believed was obtained from transporting and harboring illegal aliens. To conceal and disguise the nature of the illegal cash, Antle and his coconspirator would take the cash they received and deposit it into bank accounts they controlled. They would then write a check to the individual who had provided the cash, after taking a 15 percent fee per transaction. “The defendant held himself out as a conservationist, yet repeatedly violated laws protecting endangered animals and then tried to cover up those violations,” said Assistant Attorney General Todd Kim of the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division. “This prosecution demonstrates our commitment to combating illegal traffi cking, which threatens the survival of endangered animals.” “The defendant’s guilty plea is a testament to the dedication and perseverance of the FBI and our law enforcement partners in combating illegal fi nancial activities,” said Special Agent in Charge Steve Jensen of the FBI Columbia Field Offi ce. “The FBI remains committed to upholding the integrity of our fi nancial systems and ensuring justice is served.” “Wildlife crime is often connected with other criminal activity, including money-laundering,” said Assistant Director Edward Grace of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Offi ce of Law Enforcement. “This investigation revealed a pattern of illicit wildlife transactions orchestrated by the defendant under the guise of donations and false paperwork.” “The Service and our partners will continue to hold accountable those involved in wildlife traffi cking and other related crimes to ensure the future of all federally protected species. The Service will continue to bring to justice individuals who profi t from the illegal traffi cking of big cats and endangered species,” Grace said. For each count, Antle faces a maximum penalty of fi ve years in prison, a fi ne of up to $250,000 and three years of supervised release. U.S. District Judge Joseph Dawson III for the District of South Carolina accepted Antle’s guilty plea. He will sentence Antle after receiving and reviewing a sentencing report prepared by the U.S. Probation Offi ce. In total, Antle has more than 35 U.S. Dept. of Agriculture violations for mistreating animals. Antle was indicted in October 2020 by a grand jury in Frederick County, Virginia, after a months-long investigation by the Animal Law Unit of the Virginia Attorney General. The charges included felony wildlife traffi cking as well as misdemeanor animal cruelty and violations of the Endangered Species Act. On October 3, just fi ve days ago, Antle was fi ned $10,000 and banned for fi ve years from “possessing, trading or interacting with wild animals” in Virginia. He also received a suspended two-year prison sentence in that case. Featured image: Bhagavan “Doc” Antle with a jaguar and a black panther, undated. (Photo courtesy Doc Antle) © 2023 ens.com. Page 7 The Sun Bay Paper December 20, 2023 Nationwide politics consists of two dynamics: Left vs. Right. Fundamental issues – forget it. Rather, what are your preferred pronouns and desired bathroom and most especially who should be playing for college football’s national championship? The exploding national debt, an unsecure border, foreign policy, international trade are all nonstarters. Dwelling in the midst of this Advent season is the bread and circus brigade of college football’s bowl season that unofficially kicked off with the annual Army vs. Navy game. Celebrating its 124th meeting on the gridiron, Army was not fooled by Navy’s submarine of a quarterback sneak as time was running out. Let’s hope no military branch is ever fooled in intelligence gathering or on the battlefield. One battlefield where the coach is always a winner is in their contract buyout. Colleges owe fired coaches’ tens of millions – a record this year – in buyout monies. Indiana’s former head coach Tom Allen is owed a $15.5 million buyout, while Houston’s Dana Holgorsen is owed $14.8 million. The winner however of the coaches’ buyout brigade is Texas A&M’s former coach Jimbo Fisher, who will get $76 million stocking stuffers just two years after signing a 10-year, $95 million contract extension. Somewhere P.T. Barnum is smiling. The list is only poised to grow. Michigan State would have owed fired head coach Mel Tucker an $80 million buyout, but the school is off the hook because Tucker was fired over allegations of sexual harassment. It’s not just in the college ranks where this financial psychosis reigns but also in the NFL as Frank Reich formerly of the Colts is being paid by the team $24,657 per day – a nine million severance through 2026 – not to coach. The most important contractual detail for any bigtime coach besides pay is the buyout. Penn State Head Coach James Franklin’s 2024 buyout is $56 million. At the conclusion of PSU’s loss to Michigan many of the Nittany Lion faithful let their displeasure known and surely wouldn’t object to a coaching transfer portal. Historically, however, Franklin is holding his own. Even longtime coach Joe Paterno whose name and legacy is practically nonexistent in Happy Valley also had trouble beating Ohio State and Michigan. The major contention against Franklin is how Penn State has yet to make the College Football Playoff. Most DI football programs would love a coach who consistently kept their team bowl eligible and in the top 25. In his 10th season with the Nittany Lions, Franklin is 88-38. Penn State went 10-2 this season winning double-digit games for the fifth time in Franklin’s tenure. For the first time, Penn State is playing in the Peach Bowl and could be the first collegiate program to win each of the New Years’ six bowl games. Franklin made seven million this year that doesn’t include a New Year’s Eve clause where he is to receive $500,000 each Dec. 31, provided he remains on staff through the remainder of his contract that ends in 2031. Conversely, if Franklin leaves for another opportunity, he would owe Penn State two million in 2024 and one million through 2030. If he leaves in the final year of his contract, he owes nothing. Franklin’s deal is chock full of incentives that a generation ago were unheard of and they include: A division title but does not reach the Big Ten title game due to tiebreakers: $150,000. Big Ten championship game appearance: $250,000. Big Ten championship win: $350,000. Appearance in nonNew Year’s six or College Football Playoff bowl game: $200,000. Appearance in New Year’s six bowl: $300,000. College Football Playoff appearance: $400,000. National runner-up: $500,000. National champion: $800,000. Big Ten Coach of the Year: $100,000. National Coach of the Year: $150,000. In addition, Franklin receives $100,000 for life insurance, a $10,000 annual vehicle allowance, and a private jet for 55 hours annually for personal use. If Penn State wins a national championship, his pay will increase to $7,300,000 for every year remaining on his contract. Being anchored in the Big Ten East with PSU’s Achilles heel of Michigan and Ohio State, those Big Ten incentives are mere verbiage on a contract. Like it or not, what practically guarantees Franklin’s stay in State College is that monster buyout. Greg Maresca Want to bring new customers to your door? That’s our job! December 20, 2023 The Sun Bay Paper Page 8 It is getting darker earlier, and it is time to check your boat’s lights. You may not boat at night, but sometimes something happens, and we are out in the dark. Make sure you check your navigation lights(red, green, and all-around white lights). DO IT NOW! Your Navigation lights should be displayed from sunset to sunrise and in times of restricted visibility (Rain or Fog). Your lights should be tested often and always working, as you never know when you may be out later than expected because of weather or mechanical problems with your boat. Navigation lights properly displayed are the only means other boaters have of determining your position, direction of travel, or if you are at anchor in bad weather or nighttime. While in motion, a Red port (left) light, a Green starboard (right) light, and a White light (Visible 360 degrees) are required to travel at night. The Red light should be visible for 112.5 degrees on your Port side. The Green light should be visible for 112.5 degrees on your Starboard side. These properly displayed lights enable other boaters to determine your direction and avoid collisions. On motorboats, when you see a red and white light, it means the vessel is crossing your path from right to left, and you should slow down as you are the Give-way vessel. If you see a green light, it means the seacraft is crossing you from left to right, and you should maintain your speed and course because you are the Stand-on vessel. If you see a red, green, and white light simultaneously, you are on a collision course and must take immediate action to avoid the collision. If you just see a white light, the vessel is in front of you traveling in the same direction, OR it is at Anchor. An anchored vessel must display the all-around white light at night. Should you see just a red or green light, you are in a crossing situation with a sailboat, and the same Navigation rules apply. Check your fi xtures for corrosion, and always have extra bulbs on hand. Properly displayed and maintained lights will help prevent accidents. Remember, distances are deceiving at night, and shore lights can make it challenging to seelateral markers. Avoid looking at bright lights, as you can lose your night vision. Stay clear of Barges and Tugs as they may be towing. Have someone on your boat help you as a lookout to help locate other boats and fl oating debris in the water. REMEMBER SLOW SPEED IS BEST AFTER DARK!!! My contact information for suggestions is vilshp@aol.com Frank M. Ferraiuolo NIGHT BOATING Madison, Suwannee, and Taylor counties, acknowledged the resilience of his constituents but highlighted instances of construction fund mismanagement. Durrett expressed support for amendments enforcing an escrow requirement, especially given that many contractors operating in the state are unlicensed or from out-of-state, exploiting individuals during their most vulnerable moments. Durrett pointed out that during a state of emergency, fraud penalties are elevated to a third-degree felony. However, he underscored the difficulty of holding outof-state contractors accountable once they leave Florida. Larry Basford, State Attorney for the 14th Judicial Circuit (representing Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington counties), reported that a significant portion of fraud victims in his jurisdiction are senior citizens. He informed lawmakers that while some fraudulent contractors have faced imprisonment, the chances of victims recovering substantial amounts, often totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars, are extremely slim. Committee Chair Rep. Michael Grant, R-Port Charlotte, acknowledged the importance of addressing contractor fraud—a topic often overlooked. He expressed appreciation for the insights provided by the speakers regarding legislative actions to curb these fraudulent practices. Contractor Fraud Cont from pg 1

December 20, 2023 The Sun Bay Paper Page 9 The Greatest Political Battle in History Former President Donald J. Trump is the still the heavyweight champion of the world. He is the greatest brander, promoter, salesman, pitch man and politician in history. Name the most popular presidential brand names ever in our history: GeorgeWashington, Thomas Jeff erson, Abraham Lincoln, FDR, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama. Not one of them could be leading a presidential race (let alone pulling away) after being impeached twice, indicted four times and facing 700-plus years in prison! Trump is one of a kind. The latest Rasmussen poll is out. Trump is winning by a 10-point landslide. He’s beating President Joe Biden 48% to 38%. And that’s with only two candidates in the race. If Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Sen. Joe Manchin join in, making it a four-way race (starring three Democrats versus Trump), I predict a 15-point Trump victory. But of course, presidential races aren’t based on the popular vote. The Electoral College is what counts. We all know that race is based on seven ultracompetitive purple states. In the latest Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll out today, Trump is winning all seven battleground states that will determine the 2024 election: * Georgia: Trump up 6 points. * Michigan: Trump up 4 points. * Pennsylvania: Trump up 2 points. * Nevada: Trump up 3 points. * N. Carolina: Trump up 9 points. *Wisconsin: Trump up 4 points. *Arizona: Trump up 4 points. Everything is coming up roses for Trump. It’s all Trump, all the time. If this were poker, Trump would be holding a royal fl ush. Trump’s on a roll. Again, let me stress that this is after two impeachments, four indictments and facing 700-plus years in prison. And with the media calling him a dictator who will never leave offi ce if he’s elected again. And Democrats accusing him of wanting to execute his opponents. The debate is over... You’re looking at the greatest brander, promoter, salesman, pitch man and politician of all time. But here is a warning to my great friend President Donald J. Trump. You’re NOT going to be facing Joe Biden. Biden is fi nished. Kaput. Busted. Yesterday’s news. First, Joe Biden is fading at a speed that is hard to watch. I believe he is an old man with dementia who should be in a nursing home, with a sign around his neck with his name and phone number in case he wanders away. Everyone sees it -- even Democrat voters. Biden can no longer do the job. But that’s just his mental health. I believe his actual life is fading away as well. It’s far from certain if Biden can even survive another year, let alone another term. Next, we come to the crimes of Joe Biden. He is the single most corrupt politician in the history of America. And for the fi rst time, everyone sees it. The preponderance of evidence is beyond overwhelming. The story gets worse every day. Democrats cannot take a chance on putting Biden on the ballot, while all his extortion, bribery and treason is fl ooding out of the closet. Now add in the disastrous poll numbers and it’s over for Biden. The man is facing a landslide of George McGovern proportions. Democrats have no choice but to throw grandpa under the bus. So, who’s going to replace Biden? It’s not California Gov. Gavin Newsom. He was exposed and emasculated on national TV in his debate with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Newsom is the emperor with no clothes. His new nickname is Gavin “Feces Map” Newsom. Newsom’s own in-laws ran away from his failing state. And that was all BEFORE the announcement that California now has an all-time record $68 billion budget defi cit. The Biden replacement sure isn’t going to be Vice President Kamala Harris. She’s the only politician inAmerica more unpopular than Biden. Biden has been exposed as old, over the hill, confused and corrupt. Harris is simply the dumbest human being to ever serve in high offi ce. Harris couldn’t spell C-A-T if I spotted her the C and A. She is as dumb as a doorknob. Everyone sees it -- even Democrats. That leaves one choice: former fi rst lady Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama is the only Democrat inAmerica with the name recognition, brand, and popularity to have at least a chance to beat Trump. I’ve warned for a year now that she would be the Democrat nominee in 2024. First, because of her famous brand name. Name recognition is 90% of the battle in politics. Second, because her husband, former President Barack Obama, is the real president of the United States. He calls all the shots in this White House. He has all the power in the Democrat Party. Michelle’s election would give him fi ve terms as president to fi nish the job of destroyingAmerica, American exceptionalism, capitalism, freedom, and Israel too. Third, Democrats picked Chicago as the site of their convention for a reason. It’s “the land of Obama.” Chicago is Michelle’s launching pad. This convention is her “coming out party.” Democrats no longer have a choice. And so, we are about to get the greatest battle of all time between the two biggest brands in modern political history.. . TRUMPvs. OBAMA. Get out your popcorn. This will be the battle of the century, to determine the future of America. WayneAllyn Root Report Alleges Disney-Controlled Government was ‘Private Corporate Monopoly’ A recent audit report asserts that the Reedy Creek Improvement District, which was closely tied to Disney, functioned more as a “private corporate monopoly” than an independent government entity. This report, commissioned by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, claims that Disney had substantial control over the Reedy Creek Improvement District, treating it as an extension of the company rather than an independent local government. The audit outlined several key points: Corporate Infl uence: The report suggests that Disney treated Reedy Creek Improvement District as an integral part of its operations. Disney allegedly provided district employees with perks, such as free annual passes to Disney properties worldwide, that were typically given to corporate employees. Financial Transactions: The audit revealed that initially, Disney provided these benefi ts for free, but later, the district began reimbursing Disney for these perks, amounting to millions annually. The report suggests that these reimbursements were not properly accounted for and may have constituted taxable benefi ts. Transportation Impact Fees: Disney was reportedly exempt from paying transportation impact fees in Orange County, which the audit estimates could have amounted to hundreds of millions of dollars. If applied, these fees could have funded essential infrastructure projects and alleviated commuting challenges for Disney employees. Improper Spending: The report raised concerns about the spending habits of Reedy Creek administrators, including allocations for “employee relations” events, extravagant holiday parties, and retirement parties. The former district administrator was reported to have charged signifi cant amounts on his district American Express card for various events and memberships. Lack of Transparency: The audit criticized the district for not complying with transparency laws regarding public access to records, meeting agendas, and minutes. It also highlighted the payment of property taxes for the Board of Supervisors by Disney, characterizing it as an improper cash gift. Control Over Board Members: The report argued that Disney exercised control over the Reedy Creek board by selecting members through votes from district landowners, most of whom were associated with Disney. Board members were allegedly deeded fi ve-acre plots by Disney for the duration of their service, further suggesting undue infl uence. The Reedy Creek Improvement District, created in 1967, was part of the agreement to bring Disney to central Florida. The audit report suggests that the district failed to act as an independent governing body and instead operated as a tool through which Disney could exert signifi cant infl uence over various aspects of its operations.

December 20, 2023 The Sun Bay Paper Page 10 None and I mean NONE of the so-called scientists from whom Democrats solicit information for CLIMATE CHANGE opinions, ever provide answers to these simple questions... 1. What is Climate? Defi ne it! What elements contribute to our Climate ...example ... temperature, precipitation? 2. Of those elements (things) that you say makeup our climate, which ones do you claim you can control and how? Example: How would you control the Earths’ temperature or precipitation...both of which share an impact on Climate Change, do they not? 3. Oceans and major inland lakes like the Great Lakes impact the Earth’s temperature signifi cantly. Parts of Alaska have 25ft tidal changes...how do you propose to control that?! Reduce CO₂ in the atmosphere...get real? 4. The biggest contributor to Climate and Climate Change is...none other than the Sun...how about that...or do you disagree? Keep in mind the Sun controls everything from the Earth’s orbit around the Sun which controls your seasons, temperatures, tides, virtually...EVERYTHING...on Earth! Reduce CO₂ all you want, stop all CO₂ fossil fuel use you want and what you will do is punish those who rely upon the God given consumable fossil fuels that provide your “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”, which are provided to you by God and protected by your Constitution and Bill of Rights! Democraps are going to “Fundamentally” change that...Hussein Obama’s words. New York Governor Kathy Hochul has already passed laws to eliminate the use of fossil fuel...she thinks! ANYONE, who believes man can control Earth’s climate or climate change, in my opinion, is either ...a moron or lying for a cause! Which is it ...Joe Obiden, Al Gore, John Kerry? The three of them together put as much “gas” into the atmosphere as China and Russia combined! The world and more specifically America cannot exist without fossil fuel...fact, not supposition! 85% of your electricity is supplied by fossil fuels and 10% by nuclear which is outlawed / prohibited in New York and many more States...so...what’s the plan to replace...please don’t say solar or wind...that’s like giving your child toy Electric Plant Erector Set, to power your house! Regarding this Climate Change “threat” ...only an ignorant, greedy, uneducated, scoundrel... elected, high ranking, public offi cial... would weaponize Climate Change...which has existed since the beginning of time! Only Hussein Obama and Joe Obiden, in my opinion, would try to claim the “Sky is Falling...run chicken little, run (climate change is coming)” ...to scare the people they both swore to protect, to give them a way to “come to our rescue with a “fundamental change” ...to Islam... THE biggest threat to the World!! Who could possibly be that corrupt? Hussein and Joe, in my opinion... to divert the public attention away from something of greater importance...remember “the end justifi es the means”! Treason... overturning, taking control, NOT of Climate Change but of America, our government and overthrowing her from a Constitutional Republic into a Socialist, Islamic Nation... They divert your attention from something real, like Treason, to something imagined, like Climate Control?! Trying to “fundamentally change America”, in my opinion is TREASON. Gaps in the Ozone layer, hot spots in the atmosphere, Sunspots capable of destroying planet Earth exist and all impact our climate! Here is the kicker...Science has no idea how to control what causes holes in the Ozone! Science has no idea what impact the Ozone holes have, why large amounts of Carbon fall into the Oceans every year giving new Ocean life to algae and fi sh, or for certain, what came fi rst, Ozone or CO2! Here’s what NASA says when asked if carbon dioxide causes holes in the Ozone... “Yes and No”. Excuse me but in my opinion that means, “We don’t know”. Here’s some direct quotes from the Heartland Institute web site explained below ... 1.“There cannot be a climate crisis when temperatures are unusually cool.” 2.“Virtually every alarmist climate prediction has proven false.” 3.“Carbon dioxide and warmer temperatures are a blessing, not a curse.” 4.“Climate change policies cause far more harm than climate change” Directly From Heartland Institute, explanations ... “CLIMATE CHANGE The so-called climate crisis is a sham.” 1. There cannot be a climate crisis when temperatures are unusually cool. - Scientists have documented, and even the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has admitted, that temperatures were warmer than today throughout most of the time period that human civilization has existed. • Temperatures would have to keep warming at their present pace for at least another century or two before we reach temperatures that were common during early human civilization. • There can be no climate crisis – based on the notion of dangerously high temperatures – when humans have thrived in temperatures much warmer than today for most of the last 12,000 years.” 2.“Virtually every alarmist climate prediction has proven false. • During recent decades as temperatures have modestly warmed: Hurricanes Tornadoes Drought Wildfi res There has been a decline in the global number of hurricanes and America recently underwent its longest period without a major hurricane in recorded history. There has been a decline in the number of killer tornadoes. America has recently set records for the least amount of the country experiencing drought and there has been no increase in global drought. NASA satellites have measured a substantial global decrease in wildfi res in recent decades, continuing a long-term global trend. • The mere fact that ‘global warming’ has not ended all extreme weather events doesn’t mean that global warming now causes all extreme weather events. By nearly every measure, extreme weather events are now less frequent, not more frequent. • For a fuller examination of alarmist climate predictions, see ClimateAtAGlance.com. The Heartland Institute / Heartland.org / For more info, contact us at Think@ Heartland.org” 3.“Carbon dioxide and warmer temperatures are a blessing, not a curse. - Scientists have documented that cold causes 17 times more global deaths than heat. Any warming trend has saved, and will save, far more lives from cold deaths than it will cause from heat deaths. This is also true in America, where far more people die during winter than during summer. • NASA satellites have documented a remarkable increase in global vegetation in recent decades, which NASA attributes directly to more atmospheric carbon dioxide. This is a tremendous benefi t to plant species, animal species, and ecosystems throughout the world. • Global crop produc- Cont on pg 14 WHYYOU CANNOT BELIEVE DEMOCRATS ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE AS A THREAT!
