All Along Digital Version The Right Side CONGRATULATIONS MR. PRESIDENT FROM THE SUN BAY PAPER CONGRATULATIONS MR. PRESIDENT FROM THE SUN BAY PAPER AND OUR ENTIRE STAFFAND FAMILY. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND YOURS AND KEEPYOU ALL SAFE! Now down to business. In my opinion, there are three very important areas you must deal with. One is the safety/security of you and your entire family. You MUST heed what I am certain the Secret Service is advising you to do, and more IMPORTANTLY, NOT TO DO! If anyone says to go ahead and do a risky exposure…fire them! Most important is SECURITY for you and your entire family. Next is FBI and then DOJ. We ALL want you to REALLY clean the swamp by doing 100%, or as close as we can get, to a do-over. This is NOT payback, but it is justice! Justice for what Comey and his self-created army of incompetent agents, and acting AGs and DOJ staff, did! It IS Treason… no Statute of Limitations… death penalty, as well as MANY other serious felonies. Let’s see how long it would take to flip Comey. I’ll take that one or the Directorship and bring ALL to justice! What they did to the FBI must be changed back… 100% to the crime-fighting agency it was, with changes in recruiting, training and more. Keep the Security Division as it was; JUST THAT! They keep an eye on all foreign countries that are a danger to the U.S. and do background investigations. When they needed a crime investigated, they went to the appropriate Criminal squad, and we/they solved ALL of them. I know as I was involved in enough of them! Criminal squads solved the first Twin Towers attack in 4 days. We solved the Oklahoma City bombing in less than a week. We solved the Twin Towers and Pentagon and could have prevented the 2 World Trade Center if Clinton would have allowed our agents to search the Saudi computers...that’s correct. He stopped our agents because of religion...Islam...fact! What I suggested for your first administration was to not remove any sitting members of Congress…House and Senate to fill staff…we could not afford it then or now and Sessions was not the man for the job of AG…too weak. I suggested you replace Comey with a former FBI criminal agent and named suggestions. You needed to have a LAWMAN, not an Attorney… especially NO JUDGES. You would be hard pressed to find any judge who could provide a Cont. on pg 2 Project 2025: No Handbook for Tyranny After Winning Back the White House, Trump Must Make Good on His Promise to Clean House With Donald Trump’s return to the Oval Office, Americans are right to expect more than just the standard political fare. For years, we’ve watched an unrelenting series of attacks against Trump and his allies, from targeted prosecutions to blatant censorship across Big Tech and the media. Now, Trump faces the opportunity—and, arguably, the duty—to restore balance by holding accountable those who abused their positions for political gain. Trump can and should do this in a measured manner. As a president who has endured relentless lawfare, Trump understands that achieving lasting reform means facing down entrenched forces in Washington that have worked tirelessly to undermine him and the voters who supported him. If Trump is serious about his “Make America Great Again” mantra, he must ensure the rule of law is not selectively applied. To do this, he must come down hard with a micro-scalpel, excising the “Deep State” cancers in the American Government. Lawfare and Political Weaponization One of the first issues Trump must tackle is those who waged politicized legal battles against him and his team. Advisors like Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro were prosecuted for actions that seem Cont. on pg 4 Ronald Reagan was president when The Heritage Foundation first issued its conservative “Mandates for Leadership.” The “Project 2025” version has been falsely reimagined by democrats as they strive to bring fear into voters’ minds. The “blame it on Project 2025” narrative is used to demonize republicans and Donald Trump. The misleading nonsense about Project 2025 being Trump’s official plan has no factual basis, as verified by CNN’s Daniel Dale: “A Harris campaign official said the campaign has ‘made a deliberate decision to brand all of Trump’s policies’ as ‘Project 2025……” They made it up. CNN examined further Project 25’s text and concluded several things, including: “One of Harris’ claims about Project 2025 is false, while another is at least misleading…… [Project 25] does not show that Trump intends to cut Social Security; the document barely discusses Social Security……”; and there’s “No Project 2025 call to end the Affordable Care Act.” USA Today’s fact-check declared as false the democrats’ claim that “Project 2025 is a plan from Trump.” FactCheck.com, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Century also found false claims about “Project 25.” For example: “In several cases, Democrats have gone beyond the facts”: the document does not propose outlawing IVF. In fact, IVF is strongly supported by candidate Trump. Contrary to being a creation of Donald Trump, many Project 2025 proposals directly conflict with Trump’s expressed intentions. November 12, 2024 The Sun Bay Paper Page 2 Cont. from pg 1 plan to raid an armed assailant(s). Would you assign a General to fight a war who never led a soldier in battle?! It takes investigation of criminal cases to be an FBI Agent. Doing what they are doing, have been doing, leads to failure, blunders, and violates and breaches the Federal Rules of Criminal procedure and U.S. Code! Blunders, like every search warrant they wrote, executed and then violated laws like evidence tampering, is what Mc Cabe did with hiding evidence in his desk and others did staging a display by altering how secret evidence appeared during the Trump Search Warrant…and going to the FISA Court! ALL big mistakes… breaking numerous laws a rooky FBI AGENT, properly trained, would not do! SECURITY You must change, significantly, what you love to do with the people who want to touch and see you up close and personal. Use your personality by way of TV. Let that be the only way you expose yourself to the public until you are SWORN IN January 2025! Please act as though there are still threats because there are! I was an FBI Agent for 3 decades and very good at what I did…put criminals in jail! I lead every squad I was on including the NYO Truck Hijacking/ Kidnaping Squad, John Gotti’s Crew and the Bank Robbery Squad with 57 arrests my last year on the squad, on my cases only! I am certain that Iran is going to try again…they have said they want all of us dead…I believe it! President Reagan said the same thing. By exposing Hussein Obama’s agenda…an Islamic takeover, I opened myself to threats and can’t even imagine how you and your family went through and continue to do…so reduce it…you do not owe anybody another personal appearance! But nobody but me has been calling Hussein out since 2008! Secret Service should be advising you to avoid ANY large gatherings. If they do not… fire them! I hate to say this, but you cannot trust any current FBI Agents… agents who signed on since 2011! You saw what they were doing behind your back and even if there are loyal agents, none came forward during all those years they were bashing you…raiding your home…that was 100% illegal and real criminal agents know that. None of ANY FBI Agents I worked with would allow a search warrant paid for by Hillary Clinton based upon a Salacious and Unverified Steele Dossier”, Comey’s words…and HE signed it! That “raid” is exactly why there is a 4th Amendment. The “raids” and wire taps initiated with Carter Page and the Dossier…all phony. I knew that and wrote that the FISA Judge be called to your office to explain why they allowed that warrant. I have so much more but moving forward… That brings me to the second major issue, which is the FBI and DOJ. FBI The FBI became the BEST crime fighting agency in the world because of J Edgar Hoover. He recruited the BEST personnel! Not the best black man, nor the best woman, nor the best Hispanic… the BEST of the Best! He sent former VP Richard Nixson scampering when he tried to muscle an executive job with the FBI… Hoover had his secretary hand him an application! There was NO affirmative action when I was there and no female agents. The reason was the job has risks…if you are working criminal cases!! Arresting big, strong people who are nuts and want to kill you takes guts, strength and intelligence. That’s why the “old” FBI was so difficult to make it through the screening process. The physical, mental is all part of the training…agents had to be 5’10” minimum, men only, qualify on a very difficult range starting at 60 yards… After Hoover’s death everything changed from size (5’7”) to qualifying on the range, the mats everything…even doing away with the most important part of training…how to fight crime!!! The FBI doesn’t do crimes anymore… so the agents don’t do criminal investigations...so how do they learn? They don’t. Just look at every warrant they did on President Trump! They lowered the requirements, and when the NEWAgents started, and could not qualify …they lowered the standard…in all ways. When I was sworn in, early 1969, we had 180 criminal violations that we enforced: Bank Robbery, Interstate Theft of almost anything like cars, planes, boats, Kidnapping, Fugitives, even Hobbs Act cases, Wire Fraud, Mail Fraud, Escaped Prisoners. Beginning with 9/11…the FBI under Mueller made sweeping changes. Some necessary…some self-serving… not necessarily by Mueller! Mueller panicked, as did everyone in the U.S.! They passed The Patriot Act because, in my opinion, we needed something besides the War Powers Act and Due Process…that was it! The Constitution gave us Amendments on how to proceed. However, this is terrorism, and we cannot give these scoundrels those rights! So, the Patriot Act is used. Bush, in my opinion, should have declared war with Islam, Iran, when we found out Islam was the true culprit. Herein is the problem. The only way to develop Investigators is to investigate, make arrests, write and execute search warrants, arrests warrants, locate and arrest dangerous fugitives. That is the reason why today’s FBI Agents can’t do FBI work. Before you say I’m nuts…consider this…if a search is so dangerous… the average agent can’t handle it, why did CNN go in “WITH HRT and SWAT”?!? Even after they entered, they have no business being inside a potential crime scene with evidence that has to be protected… you know “chain of custody” … what the hell were they thinking? FBI Agents…? It was too dangerous for plain FBI Agents but not too dangerous for the freaking press…CNN??? WE NEVER EVER called the press to join in any warrants to enjoy the arrest or search…NEVER join on a search! Fact is that CNN was on one of the many first search warrants and went through the freaking door with SWAT…before the FBI?! That tells it all…that these “Agents” have no idea what they are doing! This is not Hollywood… at least it’s not supposed to be?! DOJ On President Trump’s search, they broke every Rule in the book. That search is illegal and was destined to be thrown out. You can’t tell the subject or his lawyer, they can’t witness the search unless they’re disruptive. The subject can witness the search, the subject can video the search, a lawyer can be there… you MUST leave the inventory document and NOT “drop it off later”, and you can’t “stage” evidence and mix it in with non-evidence…dumbasses all of them… FBI Agents, my foot! Oh, and we got the word to McCabe that he committed felonies by putting evidence in his desk…for 6 months… or whatever! These cases were supervised by Rosenstein and Comey. They both signed the affidavits… for the FIRST Carter Page search warrant and to wire taps on the Trump Tower and the RNC! So, if you sign an affidavit, for a search warrant on the former President Trump, especially since the reason the FISA Court is about to order a wiretap…you should have read the documents first! So, Mr. President this is why we need to fire all DOJ attorneys who participated in those debacles that Rosenstein and all others, new or should have known what the Steele Dossier was BEFORE doing anything…Acting AG… Pretending AG is a better handle! First, Eric Holder had two decades to contaminate DOJ and fill it with Holder trained attorneys, to the point that “teams” of DOJ Attorneys went to NUMEROUS states to “Investigate” for Civil Rights violations by law enforcement. Instead they broke the law and tried to put Police in jail by tampering with evidence to create violations. In St Louis (Floyd), that DOJ “team” was chastised by the Court for tampering with witnesses, trying to change their testimony, being dishonest with the court. In Texas, where 37 States filed a lawsuit, DOJ was held in Contempt … these “Holder-ites were ordered by the Court to stop giving Illegals Immunity from Prosecution for illegal entry. They gave 10,000 immunity against the Court Order! This was a case the states brought before the Court as DOJ was trying to give 100,000 Illegals Immunity! These “lawyers” were held in contempt and barred from appearing in ANY of the 37 States’ District Courts, for ANY reason! That’s correct, 37 freaking States Cont. on pg 3 The Right Side President Trump - Security, FBI, and DOJ
Page 3 The Sun Bay Paper November 12, 2024 President Trump - Take Control Cont. from pg 2 that they can’t practice law …what did Holder/DOJ do? NOTHING! In my opinion, I am certain there are good, honest attorneys in DOJ, but where are they? Who are they? Did they come forward? J Christian Adams and a few other DOJ Attorneys stood up to Holder when he refused to charge the Black Panthers in Philly when they stopped whites from voting! Holder’s reason…his people have suffered for 400 years …Holder said that if whites stopped blacks from voting…he would have charged. Adams and others quit DOJ! There were so many times that DOJ attorneys could have, should have, come forward and taken a stand…did any besides Mr. Adams? Thank you, Mr. Adams, on behalf of America! Fair or not. Force ALL the Presidential appointees to submit letters of resignation and then get help from Mr. Adams or the many others who should stay. BUT…DO NOT GIVE ANY DEMOCRATS ANY SEATS FOR ANYTHING. THEY DID EVERYTHING TO KILLAMERICAAND THEIR LEADER HUSSEIN OBAMA IS STILLALIVE AND WELL AND RARING TO DO ANYTHING TO MAKE AMERICA ISLAMIC…AND DON’T LET ANYONE TELL YOU DIFFERENT MR. PRESIDENT…YOU WILL HAVE 4 YEARS…NOT ENOUGH! Hussein kept 250 offices and some thousands of employees…employees for what? Bring in one of your sons and don’t be afraid to give him, and any/all of your family, jobs to protect the President. Tell, ask, the Speaker to do the same. Do not allow ANY Democrats on ANY Committees and don’t say you can’t. Have the NEW FBI open cases on those Congressman who have Soviet or Chinese spies working, sleeping with them. November 12, 2024 The Sun Bay Paper Page 4 Trump Triumphs Cont. from pg 1 to be criminalized only because of their ties to Trump. Legal allies Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, and Jeff Clark were ruined personally and professionally. This approach to justice is more than hypocritical; it’s a clear abuse of power by officials determined to punish those who challenge them. There’s no more explicit example of selective prosecution than the way the January 6 defendants were treated versus Black Lives Matter protesters. Hundreds of January 6 protesters are serving long sentences, while rioters during the 2020 unrest walked free. Trump’s first step must be to investigate and correct these double standards. The statute of limitations on the George Floyd riots is five years. Bring those criminals to justice immediately. Without addressing this issue, we’re left with a justice system that selectively punishes based on politics. However, Trump must also remain magnanimous. This is why he should pledge to commute any sentence given to Hunter Biden to “heal” the country. It would place Biden and the Democrats in an impossible political position and give him the political capital to use in prosecutions targeted explicitly at those government officials who misused their offices and politically targeted Americans for their outspoken beliefs. Targeting Corrupt Prosecutors Trump’s administration should pursue those who led the politically motivated charges against him. This isn’t about vengeance; it’s about sending a message that using legal power as a political weapon has consequences. These officials, who violated the spirit of their oaths to serve the public without bias, should face the same scrutiny they imposed on others. Former FBI Director James Comey is reportedly deeply concerned about Trump’s return to power. He fears that Trump will dismantle the FBI and Department of Justice as part of a sweeping reform agenda. Comey, who has been a vocal critic of Trump since his dismissal, knows that Trump’s administration has not forgotten the FBI’s role in the 2016 Russia investigation, which Trump and his supporters contend was a partisan effort to undermine his presidency. Comey fears not just institutional reform but also personal accountability, as Trump could move to prosecute those who allegedly weaponized federal agencies for political purposes, including Comey himself. With widespread calls for accountability and a promise to “drain the swamp,” Trump investigate and prosecute those who misused their positions of power, restoring public trust and ensuring that no one remains above the law. Trump must prosecute several political enemies, but not just because they are opponents. They are prosecuted because they engaged in actions that have “damaged trust in our American political system.” Restoring this trust will require transparency and accountability, something Trump has promised but must now deliver. Reforming Big Tech’s Grip on Speech Big Tech’s interference in the free flow of information has become glaringly obvious. Platforms like Twitter (now X; before Elon Musk’s purchase), Facebook, and YouTube have repeatedly silenced conservative voices, particularly during elections. By deplatforming Trump in 2021 and censoring politically inconvenient stories, Big Tech demonstrated its power to shape narratives and influence public opinion. It’s time to end these platforms’ monopoly. Trump’s administration must revisit antitrust cases against Big Tech to curb their unchecked power and create a fair digital landscape. The major broadcast networks also operate on free licenses of the public spectrum. If Trump follows through, breaking up these monopolies could be his legacy. Immigration Reform Starts with Accountability The Biden administration’s open-border policies must end. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, responsible for overseeing what many see as a deliberate lack of border security, should be held accountable. Trump’s administration should not shy away from prosecuting top officials who enabled the flow of illegal immigration, undermining both our laws and national security. Trump has already voiced support for freezing funding to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that aid in resettling illegal immigrants, and he’s right to pursue this. Holding accountable both government officials and private organizations involved in unlawful activities is vital to restoring order and security at the border. Recognizing Allies Who Stood Tall While Trump must confront those who wielded power unethically, he must also remember to lift up those who supported him. Elon Musk, who championed free speech in the face of Big Tech’s censorship, should be given the support he needs to expand broadband access nationwide. Unlike the government’s $42 billion rural broadband program, Musk’s satellite-based internet has already proven effective at a fraction of the cost. Cutting bureaucratic red tape for Musk isn’t just smart policy—it’s a reward for his commitment to freedom of expression. Another ally, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., broke with his family’s political tradition to support Trump. Kennedy’s advocacy for health freedom and opposition to Big Pharma deserves Trump’s backing in policy initiatives. These alliances are about more than personal gratitude; they represent sound governance. Reforming the Intelligence Community If Trump wants lasting reform, he must also focus on the intelligence community, whose leaders actively sought to discredit him. Perhaps the most blatant example of this was the letter signed by 51 intelligence officials dismissing the Hunter Biden laptop story as “Russian disinformation.” These officials should be stripped of their security clearances and investigated for election interference. The intelligence community should protect Americans, not meddle in political affairs. For Trump to succeed, he must remove officials who have shown a clear bias against him and rebuild public trust in these agencies. Moving Beyond Partisanship, Demanding Accountability Some will accuse Trump of exacting revenge, but this view misses the point. Trump’s efforts to hold accountable those who misused their power will strengthen democracy. The double standards in justice, media, and tech that we have seen are not sustainable if Americans are to trust their government. If Trump wants to fulfill his promise of making America great, he must prioritize fairness, accountability, and transparency. These aren’t partisan values; they’re democratic values. Trump’s victory was a mandate from voters who feel the system has betrayed them. Trump’s mission is clear: to restore that trust, break the stranglehold of the old power structures, and ensure that no one—left or right—is above the law. He has a second chance to bring about real change. This time, he must follow through. Richard Luthmann

It does support maintaining abortion statistics, which is already being done by private organizations. Rumors of ‘terminating the constitution,” are false. Rather, Project 2025 expresses its commitment to strengthening self-government, a dominant goal of our constitution. The administrative state has become almost a separate unaccountable branch of government, often churning out heavy-handed rules. Quoting the document: “A more restrained administrative state translates into less control over American’s’ lives.” The governmental restructuring being suggested in Project 2025 adds accountability and brings the administrative state under more control of the president, as originally designated in the Constitution. Some critics make claims about topics never mentioned in the document, such as: ending nofault divorce; ending same-sex marriage; banning contraception; and eliminating unions. However, federal funding of abortions is opposed. There are suggestions to improve ACA policies, but no support for banning it. School lunch programs would be moved to HHS but not ended. There is a suggestion to make lunch programs available based on family income. Regarding Social Security, improvements are suggested, but cutting benefits isn’t mentioned. Raising the retirement age is nowhere advocated. Cutting Medicare benefits is not advocated. There is a call for eliminating Medicare fraud and waste. And remember, Trump has expressed his opposition to cutting Social Security and Medicare. Some claims about the document are correct: supporting federal death penalty enforcement; funding private religious schools; deporting certain illegal immigrants; and increasing arctic drilling. There is a plan to shut down the Department of Education, but it transfers control to state and local governments. Project 2025 is not a threat to democracy. Fascism and dictatorship aren’t promoted. There are no hints of creating a dystopian land such as depicted in “Handmaids Tale,” with fertile women subjected to child-bearing slavery for barren conservative ruling-class women, along with cruel and gruesome discipline. It’s OK if critics disagree. It’s not OK to misrepresent the content of Project 25 or to confuse it with Trump’s policy proposals. Some of its ideas and suggestions will never see the light of day, and some Trump won’t support. There’s much speculation and imagination in most of the criticism. And sadly, there’s a potential for violent overreaction when Project 25 is characterized as a harbinger of something evil such as in the “Handmaid’s” theme. As President, Trump wasn’t a dictator. He’s never been a tyrant, nor will he ever be. Project 2025 is simply a conservative policy document, but not a Christian nationalist playbook. However, it does give a sense of support for community and societal standards, prioritizes strong national defense, emphasizes family-friendly policies, and prefers streamlined government. A modest level of research will uncover the facts about Trump’s policies and Project 2025 and clarifies their similarities and differences. Steve Bakke Visit my website at myslantonthings.com
November 12, 2024 The Sun Bay Paper Page 6 Trump’s Election Comeback Riles the Democrat Party’s Assorted Snowflakes Despite Democrats posing as election officials, Dominion voting machines, the questionable counting of votes, foreign interference, ballot box fires in several states, ballot stuffing, cyber tampering, and voting by illegal immigrants, the best possible outcome of a decisive victory – both with the popular vote and the Electoral College – was a stark and much-needed reality. Even with the outcome well in hand, Trump Derangement Syndrome will not go away as those infected can’t stand the thought of how Donald Trump is a quasar of politics. No one in American history has been attacked as relentlessly by such a phalanx of powerful forces and for as long as Donald Trump. It would be nice to know just how many noncitizens voted, but the nation’s fourth estate—its media— just isn’t interested, which underscores how the media continues to fail the American Republic. What about the polls that got it wrong? Pollsters almost always oversample Democrats. When no one was looking, plenty voted for Trump, understanding that the course the USS America was on was headed straight to oblivion and that a change was absolutely necessary. Leading up to the election, Barack Obama was not too happy that some independent-thinking Black men would actually vote for Trump over Kamala Harris. This underscores how out of touch the bi-racial Obama is. You would think by now Obama would know that a good percentage of the brothers will take the fat, white, blonde every time. Even the Amish turned out for Trump. If Harris had an advantage with the Amish, it was that they were the only Americans not ticked off about the high price of gas as they rode their horse buggies, flying their Trump flags, to the polls in Pennsylvania. During the campaign, plenty of RINOs were exposed—too many to mention—and played the role of the useful idiot extremely well. I held my breath and not my nose when I voted. With Trump’s remarkable and victorious political comeback, he has plenty of work ahead and is now exclusively positioned to accomplish plenty. However, will the Left’s hostility of hatred, fear, and animosity toward Trump attempt to obstruct him from performing his duties and keep his life in the crosshairs? Rather than chaos and a drop in the markets hurting the American greenback, the nation refused to go the banana republic route. The aftereffects had a distinct 2016 vibe as Trump peaked with the fall foliage. Had those Democrat honchos truly believed Harris was leading in the polls, she would have remained sequestered. However, that was far from the case, and Harris was compelled to appear time and again in public, where she could not help to expose herself as the incompetent DEI candidate she was. Her campaign was summed up in one sentence when she appeared on “The View” when she swung and missed with her slowpitch softball of an interview when asked what she would do differently from President Joe Biden over the last four years. Harris was unapologetic and direct, saying, “There is not a thing that comes to mind.” Game. Set. Match. Harris won the Democrat’s nomination for president without winning a single primary vote. Perhaps the Democrats will learn from this? To Harris’s credit, she did concede with dignity even though it was several hours after the fact. If it’s any consolation to both sides of the aisle, all those political text messages and postcards will finally cease. Greg Maresca Election Hangover: How the Left Lost Their Grip
Page 7 The Sun Bay Paper November 12, 2024 The Lowdown on Chair Yoga: Free Resources, Real Benefits, No Gimmicks Chair yoga -- it's the latest exercise trend making waves on social media, popping up in feeds with promises of gentle stretches and easy movement for all ages. And let's be honest, who hasn't felt the appeal of something that requires little more than a chair and the willingness to try? But are the promises real or just another passing fad? That's exactly what one reader, Liz, wanted to know when she reached out to ask if I'd ever looked into chair yoga apps. So here's what I found -- and some truly free ways to bring chair yoga into your life, no gimmicks included. Dear Cheapskate: You are always my "go-to person." Thanks for always being there on your website, daily emails and columns I read in Epoch Times. I'm wondering if you have ever looked into chair yoga apps. I see them on social media all the time. They usually say "free," then you go in and it's free for a week or something. Do you have any thoughts on chair yoga as a viable form of healthy exercise and if there might be apps or other helps that are truly free? -- Liz Dear Liz: First, thanks so much for your kind words -- that means the world to me. As for chair yoga, it has been the focus of a lot of research that has found it to be a valuable, accessible form of exercise, particularly for people with limited mobility, seniors and those managing chronic conditions. November 12, 2024 The Sun Bay Paper Page 8 Once upon a time, a big “SPECIAL” sign was enough to make us think we were getting a deal at the grocery store. But today’s shoppers aren’t so easily fooled. We’ve become wiser, knowing there’s more to shopping smart than flashy tags and end-of-aisle displays. A number of studies now promise we can categorize ourselves into four grocery-shopping personalities. Take a look -- maybe you’ll see a bit of yourself in one of these types. With a few extra tips, you’ll be able to make the most of your unique shopping style! SUPER SAVERS Super Savers are the champions of bargains, always on the hunt for the best deal. They’re the ones who check out three stores in a single trip, clip coupons like pros, and can spot an authentic sale from a mile away. For them, saving isn’t just a necessity -- it’s a challenge they’re determined to win. SIGNS YOU’RE A SUPER SAVER • You’ve got a meal plan ... sort of. You buy what’s on sale, but there’s a little pantry overload and still nothing for dinner. Planning meals around what’s on sale, not just what’s in bulk, can help. • You don’t trust the big “SALE” tags. You carry a calculator to see if a deal is real. Aim for items at least 50% off or buyone-get-one-free to truly call it a “score.” • You’re friends with your freezer. Double your recipes and freeze meals for those busy nights when cooking feels impossible. • Your pantry is an organized masterpiece. Everything is in its place, oldest in front, with an inventory list in your freezer so those bags of frozen chicken don’t become artifacts. PLANNERS Planners are calm and collected, focused on fresh ingredients and home-cooked meals. They’re less inclined to chase sales and more likely to whip up a meal from scratch. To them, time in the kitchen is well spent; time clipping coupons, not so much. SIGNS YOU’RE A PLANNER • You strategize without leaving your routine. You might pick up the weekly circular and see if anything fits your plan, but you’re not running all over town. • You think long term. Grocery stores run on 12-week cycles, so when you see a favorite item on sale, you buy enough to last until the next markdown. • You’ve gone digital with discounts. No paper clutter here -- you load your coupons electronically right onto your store card. • You know your sizes. Medium-sized items sometimes cost less per ounce than the larger ones. Quick math and attention to unit pricing can help you find the real savings. SACRIFICERS Sacrificers are practical and careful. Maybe they’re adjusting to a tighter budget, or they’re just picky about where every dollar goes. For them, grocery shopping has become a game of needs versus wants, and each item is a careful choice. SIGNS YOU’RE A SACRIFICER • You don’t let yourself go without. You’re brand-loyal to a few essentials, finding coupons where you can and opting for store brands on the rest. • You keep it to one trip a week. Multiple trips can lead to impulse buys, so you stick to a list and avoid those budget-busting extra visits. • You shop where the prices are right. Forget the fancy grocery stores -- sacrificers head to the no-frills places with better prices, even if it means longer lines. • You’re proud of your effort. Grocery shopping isn’t glamorous, but you know every bit saved here is a bit more for something else important. SPECTATORS Spectators are loyal to their brands and habits. They haven’t felt the impact of higher prices because they choose to not pay attention. Even high inflation hasn’t drastically changed their shopping routines. But with a few easy tweaks, even spectators can stretch their budgets to make grocery shopping work harder for them. SIGNS YOU’RE READY TO SHIFT FROM SPECTATOR MODE • You’re willing to try a cash-only challenge. Set a goal to cut your grocery spending by 20%-25%, then take only that much in cash to the store. It’s eye-opening how this keeps you on budget. • You’re curious about prices. Tossing things in the cart without looking at prices is easy -- but keeping a mental note of what you’re spending helps curb that habit. • You’re willing to start small: Pick one thing to focus on, like buying in-season produce or cooking one meal from scratch. • You’re walking on by convenience foods. Packaged foods are pricey! Homemade granola, dips and other staples not only taste better but cost less too. Every grocery shopper has his or her style, and there’s no wrong way to do it. But knowing your personality type can help you make little tweaks that fit naturally with the way you already shop. So grab your list (and maybe your calculator) and make your next trip to the store work for you -- no tricks, just smart shopping. Page 9 The Sun Bay Paper November 12, 2024 We must stick together to bring America back from the brutal beating she took with Democraps trying to change America into a Socialist, and for the LEADER Hussein Obama, Islamic Nation! Mr. President, we know you are loyal to those who helped you, but you cannot jeopardize losing the House or Senate to make somebody an office member or staff. Why not do this …WAIT UNTIL you are sworn in first BEFORE depleting the barely a majority… you don’t even know how many Republicans will be in either house…just wait! You should know by now exactly how dangerous some of these people are. They tried to kill you twice…who has the most to win and least to lose? Who has been running America and is never mentioned? Who has no real business …but has 250 offices throughout the US and thousands of employees…doing WHAT? Who spent millions of dollars…to be close to the White House…after his term was finished…WHY? For example, in my opinion there are SERIOUS questions about Supreme Court Justice Alito’s death. A side issue is Border Patrol, they desperately need your help. YOU ABSOLUTLY MUST APPOINT AN ASS KICKING, DOOR KICKING, MIDDLE AGE Border Patrol brick AGENT as Border Patrol Chief/Director. I worked very close to US Border Patrol on the NY/Canadian Border. They were underfunded and their job, on the Texas Border, was declared by Ripley as the most dangerous job in the World about 40 years ago! I was in the NYO and thought that the number of shootings there was unbelievable. That was NOTHING compared to Texas Border Patrol! They do not like the Border Patrol, ICE, and Homeland Security breakdown at all! Mr. President your battles are going to overwhelm you if you do not get a step on the scoundrels who proved to be admitted liars… let me name a few…FBI Comey, FBI McCabe, FBI Strzok, the duo of Intel Director James Clapper and CIA Director John Brennan… Congress Swallow, Shitty, and the Penguin …Hillary Clinton, Hussein…and many more! Begin investigations on all these people and make it a RICO - Mail fraud, Wire Fraud, Murder, Treason et al. There is no statute of Limitations in a Treason Case… conspirators, co-conspirators would be staff members. I estimate we could indict 30 elected officials at least. Joe Biden’s pay to play with Ukraine would be a real winner! How much Ukraine money was kicked back to accounts in offshore banks? You absolutely need to bring back to the FBI, the Sections of Title 18 USC that were passed to other Agencies like US Marshals, DEA, ATF, Local PDs…bring them back first. Then bring back the Crime Fighters who made the cases and get rid of the slackers, liars, co-conspirators who carried out those raids and those who intentionally sabotaged the investigations. What investigations…? Let’s start with Hillary…she’s the easiest, my opinion! Comey “declined prosecution” …but he can’t do that as FBI Director…he overstepped his bounds or did he? As FBI Director he cannot give immunity or authorize a declination to prosecute. That’s not his responsibility …it’s a prosecutor’s responsibility …DOJs’ and, if I’m not mistaken, when a deal for immunity is granted, the recipient must come clean, tell the truth. That’s a problem…Hillary cannot tell the truth. If she did, it would be a confession to something illegal, my opinion! In every grant of immunity I was involved in, in my cases, there had to be a “Proffer”. There are many ways of doing a Proffer, but every Proffer I was involved in was contingent upon complete truthfulness on the part of the subject and the subject must lock in their testimony before a Grand Jury and any deceit by the subject (Hillary) would null and void the contract and testimony presented by the subject can be used against her…or him! If Hillary told the truth, she would be arrested immediately, my opinion! How? Hillary Clinton committed so many crimes its almost overwhelming! But I would be happy to take an appointment as Agent for free just to put her in jail for life for what she did to my Country, an American Ambassador and several other heroes who were deserted while under fire in Benghazi…none dare call it Treason! Or do they? She directed 30,000 documents, some eyes only and others unclassified, to be “reviewed” by unauthorized people, and then burned all, while those documents were Government property, at her home illegally and here’s the most serious crime… they were all under subpoena and evidence in a criminal investigation…hers!!! Evidence tampering…a felony in the least, but probably something worse like Treason or Espionage. I wasn’t there during her “interview” by FBI Strzok but if he did not tell her, her 5th Amendment Rights, that order could only come from Comey…trying to sabotage the case…and it worked… or did it? In my opinion that debacle can be set aside. It’s like one bank robber giving another immunity…Not Possible. A co-conspirator cannot offer another co-conspirator any binding deals! My opinion! J. November 12, 2024 The Sun Bay Paper Page 10 Social Security COLA for 2025 In mid-October every year, the Bureau of Labor Statistics releases its much-anticipated report on changes (usually increases) to the Consumer Price Index over the past 12 months. Why is this little esoteric government report -- actually called the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers -- so popular? Because for the past 50 years, it’s the report that determines the costof-living adjustment (COLA) that Social Security beneficiaries will get the following year. Because my column has a long lead time, what I am reporting here isn’t news to most of my readers. As I’m sure you already heard, all 68 million Social Security beneficiaries’ checks are going up 2.5% in 2025. I always dread mentioning COLAs in this column because every single time I do, I am flooded with emails from readers complaining that the increase is not enough. Yet here’s the rub: Many economists and social planners believe Social Security COLAs are too generous! (I’ve explained why in past columns, but don’t have the space to get into that argument today.) That’s why most discussions of long-range reform for Social Security include proposals to reduce cost-of-living increases. But for now, that’s neither here nor there. Let’s get back to the 2025 Social Security COLA. Due to these increases, the average monthly retirement check will be $1,976 in 2025, a $49 increase from the 2024 level. The maximum Social Security check for a worker turning full retirement age in 2025 will be $4,018, compared to $3,822 in 2024. And please note that $4,018 is the maximum for someone turning full retirement age in 2025. That does not mean it is the maximum Social Security payment anyone can receive. There are millions of Social Security beneficiaries who get much more than that, primarily because they worked well past their FRA and/or delayed starting their benefits until age 70. Here’s another important point about the COLA. Many readers have been asking me if they must file for Social Security benefits in 2024 to get the COLA that’s paid in January 2025. The answer is no. The COLA will be built into the benefit computation formula. So even if you don’t file for Social Security until next year, or some subsequent year, you’ll still get the 2.5% increase. Although this is a Social Security column, I must mention the upcoming increase in the Medicare Part B premium, which is deducted from Social Security checks for most people. As I was writing this column, the 2025 basic Part B premium was not yet announced. But it is projected to be $185. That’s $5.20 more than the 2024 rate. And as has been the case for 20 years now, wealthy people will pay more than the basic premium. I don’t want to get into the complicated issue of Medicare premiums other than to make this quick point: Even though they are linked in the minds of most senior citizens, Social Security and Medicare are entirely separate programs, administered by entirely separate federal agencies, and they have entirely separate rules and regulations regarding their benefit and payment structures. For example, I already explained how Social Security COLAs are figured. The Part B Medicare premium increase has nothing to do with the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ consumer price index. Instead, by law, it must be set at a level that covers 25% of the cost of running the program. Taxpayers pick up the remaining 75%. (And again, wealthy people pay more than the 25% share.) Another measuring stick called the “national wage index” is used to set increases to other provisions of the law that affect Social Security beneficiaries and taxpayers. Specifically, this includes increases in the amount of wages or selfemployment income subject to Social Security tax, the amount of income needed to earn a “quarter of coverage” and the Social Security earnings penalty limits. The Social Security taxable earnings base will go up from $168,600 in 2024 to $176,100 in 2025. In other words, people who earn more than $176,100 in 2025 will no longer have Social Security payroll taxes deducted from their paychecks once they hit that threshold. This has always been a very controversial provision of the law. (Bill Gates pays the same amount of Social Security tax as his plumber!) I think it’s a pretty good bet that any eventual Social Security reform package will include an increase in that wage base. Most people need 40 Social Security work credits (sometimes called “quarters of coverage”) to be eligible for monthly benefit checks from the system. In 2024, people who were working earned one credit for each $1,730 in Social Security taxable income. But no one earns more than four credits per year. In other words, once you made $6,920, your Social Security record has been credited with the maximum four credits or quarters of coverage. In 2025, the one credit limit goes up to $1,810, meaning you will have to earn $7,240 this coming year before you get the maximum four credits assigned to your Social Security account. People under their full retirement age who get Social Security retirement or survivor’s benefits but who are still working are subject to limits in the amount of money they can earn and still receive all their Social Security checks. That limit was $22,320 in 2024 and will be $23,400 in 2025. For every $2 a person earns over those limits, $1 is withheld from his or her monthly benefits. There is a higher earnings threshold in the year a person turns full retirement age that applies from the beginning of the year until the month the person reaches FRA. (The income penalty goes away once a person reaches that magic age.) That threshold goes up from $59,520 in 2024 to $62,160 in 2025. A couple other Social Security provisions are also impacted by inflationary increases. For example, people getting disability benefits who try to work can generally continue getting those benefits as long as they are not working at a “substantial” level. In 2024, the law defined substantial work as any job paying $1,550 or more per month. In 2025, that substantial earnings level increases to $1,620 monthly. Finally, the Supplemental Security Income basic federal payment level for one person goes up from $943 in 2024 to $967 in 2025. SSI is a federal welfare program administered by the Social Security Administration, but it is not a Social Security benefit. It is paid for out of general revenues, not Social Security taxes.
