For example, +/- 200 radical Democraps to very high positions in law enforcement (District Attorneys, Judges, Mayors…and many more). You are seeing and saw what a crazy, inept, judge can do… can eliminate due process in several different jurisdictions, without a jury…not allowing legal defense evidence without a hearing! Due process requires that evidence that favors the defense, exculpatory evidence, must be presented in a hearing …not allowed for Trump. He was accused of rape…but not allowed to present exculpatory evidence. The “victim” was allowed to go forward against a former President without remembering where, when, how, even if it really happened…all lies. But they were allowed. Those trials are a preview of what’s coming. Trump and many others were deprived of due process and are spending millions to protect us, you and me…not just themselves! Not one word was written by “Mohammed” …Mohammed was illiterate! He could not read nor write his own language! His followers did it from his words, writings from other followers … (many different followers) and his actions. The fact is that Islam is comprised of three parts…the written words of others, the Hadith (the actions) and Mohammed’s spoken words! That is how I see it. Some believe the beheading of infidels, disbelievers…that’s you and me, by the way… is allowed because when Muslims, led by Mohammed, sacked Medina and gathered the Jews who refused to accept…SUBMIT, to his teachings…at their coliseum, and in front of his 11-year-old wife, Mohammed and his wife watched the beheading of 800 Jews!!! The Quran specifically and repeatedly calls for the beheading of disbelievers, “Kill pagan Jews at every opportunity” …, “they are pigs”. In the name of Islam, they killed many women when ISIS attacked Iraq for being seen in public without a head cover. I saw that myself, and it was for real! Look at the Americans they have slaughtered…innocent people. How many times have you heard the Imam tell you he wants you dead…do you not believe that? If you vote for any Democrap you will be sorry. The Helene victims yet to see RELIEF! In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the Biden-Harris administration faces a new and more daunting challenge as Hurricane Milton, a Category 5 storm, barrels toward Florida. With 175 mph winds and a predicted storm surge of up to 12 feet, the storm is expected further to stretch the administration’s already strained disaster response capabilities. But they still have enough to care for illegals…before citizens and hurricane victims? While President Biden and Vice President Harris have tried to stay on top of recovery efforts from Helene, their handling of Milton could become a critical test of leadership—and one that could significantly influence their chances in the 2024 election. Harris, who has faced criticism for her non-response to Hurricane Helene, is already vulnerable. Her performance during the upcoming storm will be scrutinized even more closely, particularly given the stakes in battleground states like Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. Helene hit these states hard and now faces another round of destruction from Milton. The challenge is immense for Harris, who already trails former President Donald Trump in leadership ratings. Federal Response Under Fire The administration’s response to Helene was “slow”. A victim related there was only one FEMA representative onsite in 3 days, with many residents in the affected areas feeling that aid and federal resources took too long to arrive. Harris has faced backlash for what some have called a “photo-op” visit days after Helene devastated parts of the Southeast. As Milton approaches, critics question whether the administration is better prepared this time—or if they are reacting to events as they unfold. On Monday, Biden signed an emergency declaration for Florida, citing more than three dozen counties that Milton could affect. The Iranian Government view General Qasem Soleimani as a martyr. In reality, he’s just another dead terrorist. In 2023, another would-be assassin, Ryan Wesley Routh, was apprehended at Trump’s Florida golf course. Court documents revealed Routh had written about how Iran should assassinate Trump in retaliation for the 2018 nuclear deal withdrawal. The complexity of the Butler assassination attempt, combined with Iran’s ongoing threats against Trump and other former administration officials, has led to renewed fears that Iran may be financing or coordinating such operations through proxies. A Financial and Political Storm Austin Private Wealth, a Texas-based asset management firm, came under scrutiny for shorting 12 million shares of DJT just before the Butler attack. The firm later claimed it was a clerical error. They said the short volume on DJT stock did not increase substantially before July 13. This SEC filing was filed on July 12th, but it involved investments for the period ending June 30th. This floating island of trash is not a singular entity but rather a sprawling accumulation of debris spread across a vast area, held together by the North Pacific Subtropical Gyre. The GPGP has become a symbol of the growing crisis of oceanic pollution, highlighting the consequences of our throwaway culture. The Formation and Accumulation of Debris The North Pacific Subtropical Gyre is a system of ocean currents that rotate clockwise, creating a vortex that traps debris within its boundaries. The gyre is composed of four currents: the North Pacific Current, the California Current, the North Equatorial Current, and the Kuroshio Current. These currents form a slow-moving whirlpool that captures floating debris and prevents it from dispersing, leading to the gradual accumulation of waste over time. The debris in the GPGP comes from various sources, including land-based activities such as improper waste disposal, stormwater runoff, and riverine transport. Marine sources, such as fishing vessels, shipping containers, and lost or discarded fishing gear, also contribute to the growing mass of trash. The GPGP has been accumulating debris for decades, with its size now estimated to be more than 1.6 million square kilometers, roughly twice the size of Texas. The Composition of the Pacific Trash Vortex The GPGP is predominantly composed of plastic waste, which constitutes approximately 80% of the debris. This plastic waste varies in size from large, visible objects like bottles, bags, and fishing nets to microplastics—tiny plastic particles less than 5 millimeters in diameter. Polystyrene (PS): Used in disposable cups, plates, and food packaging, polystyrene contributes to the volume of floating debris. Nylon and Other Synthetic Fibers: Often originating from fishing nets and lines, these materials are durable and resistant to degradation, making them a significant part of the GPGP. Over time, larger plastic items break down into smaller fragments through photodegradation, mechanical forces, and the action of waves. These microplastics can persist in the marine environment for hundreds of years, posing a long-term threat to marine life. Other Floating Trash Islands The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is not an isolated phenomenon. There are several other garbage patches in the world’s oceans, formed by similar gyre systems. These include: North Atlantic Garbage Patch: Located in the North Atlantic Gyre, this patch is smaller than the GPGP but still contains significant amounts of plastic debris. Indian Ocean Garbage Patch: Situated in the Indian Ocean Gyre, this patch also accumulates marine debris, although it is less studied than its Pacific and Atlantic counterparts. South Pacific Garbage Patch: Found in the South Pacific Gyre, this patch is another concentration of plastic waste, contributing to the global issue of oceanic pollution. South Atlantic Garbage Patch: Located in the South Atlantic Gyre, this patch is similar in nature to the others, collecting debris from the surrounding oceanic region. The Environmental and Ecological Impact The accumulation of plastic debris in the GPGP and other garbage patches has profound consequences for marine life. International cooperation and policy measures, such as banning single-use plastics and promoting the development of biodegradable alternatives, are also essential. DOH-Lee recommends the following tips to prevent illness or injury: Flood Waters • Basic hygiene is critical. If you are under a boil water notice, use commercially bottled water for mixing baby formula. Wash your hands with soap and either disinfected or boiled and cooled water, especially before preparing or eating food, after toilet use, after handling a soiled diaper, after participating in flood cleanup activities, and after handling objects contaminated with flood water or sewage. • Avoid eating or drinking anything that has been contaminated with flood waters. • Avoid contact with flood waters, especially if you have open cuts or sores. • If you have any open cuts or sores and come in contact with flood waters, wash the area well with soap to prevent infection. If a wound develops redness, swelling, or drainage, seek immediate medical attention. • Residents who sustain lacerations and/or puncture wounds are encouraged to contact their primary health care provider to make sure they are current on their tetanus vaccine and possibly get a booster. Vibrio vulnificus • Risk Factors: Individuals who have compromised immune systems, liver disease, or open wounds are at higher risk for Vibrio vulnificus. • Symptoms: Symptoms may include diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fever, chills, fast or high heart rate, confusion, or disorientation. • When to Seek Medical Attention: Seek medical attention immediately if you experience symptoms associated with Vibrio vulnificus, especially after exposure to floodwaters. Carbon Monoxide • Carbon Monoxide (CO) is an invisible, odorless, and tasteless gas that can be deadly. • Using generators indoors, including garages, can cause carbon monoxide to build up leading to death. Only use all gas-powered or charcoal burning equipment outside, at least 20 feet away from doors, windows, vents, and air intakes. • Symptoms of CO poisoning include fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, stomach pain, vomiting, headaches, confusion, lack of coordination, vision problems, loss of consciousness, chest pains for people with heart disease, and in some cases, death. • If you suspect CO poisoning, call 911 or the Florida Poison Information Center at 1-800222-1222. Mosquito Bite Prevention DRAIN standing water: • Drain water from garbage cans, buckets, pool covers, coolers, toys, flowerpots, or any other containers where sprinkler or rainwater has collected. • Discard old tires, drums, bottles, cans, pots and pans, broken appliances, and other items that aren’t being used. • Empty and clean birdbaths and pets’ water bowls at least twice a week. • Protect boats and vehicles from rain with tarps that don’t accumulate water. • Maintain swimming pools in good condition and appropriately chlorinated. Empty plastic swimming pools when not in use. COVER your skin: • If you must be outside when mosquitoes are active, cover up. Wear shoes, socks, long pants, and long sleeves. • Apply mosquito repellent to bare skin and clothing. Always use repellents according to their labels. Repellents with 10-30% DEET, picaridin, oil of lemon eucalyptus, and IR3535 tend to be most effective. • Use mosquito netting to protect children younger than 2 months old. Boil Water Notice • Once water reaches a boiling point, let it continue to boil for an additional minute. • Boil tap water even if it is filtered. • Use clean or bottled water to wash fruits and vegetables or to prepare drinks. • Brush teeth with boiled or bottled water. Wildlife If you’re bitten and not in need of immediate assistance: • Wash hands with soap and clean, fresh water. • Place pressure on the wound with a clean cloth to stop bleeding. • After bleeding has stopped, pour bottled or clean, running water over the wound and gently clean water. • Pat dry and use an adhesive bandage or dry, clean cloth to cover the wound. • Once the wound has been stabilized, seek medical assistance to ensure that no additional treatment is needed. • Report all bites to Lee County Domestic Animal Services or Lee County Sheriff’s Office to ensure rabies prevention follow-up is conducted. Mold Clean Up • Take it out: Anything that was wet with flood water and can’t be cleaned and dried completely within 24 to 48 hours should be taken outside for waste removal. • Air out: Open all doors and windows when you are removing wet or moldy materials, or when cleaning moldy surfaces. • Scrub surfaces: Clean with water and detergent. Remove all mold you can see. Dry right away. • Don’t cover it, remove it: Painting or caulking over mold will not prevent mold from growing. Dry it out and remove all the mold before you paint or caulk. • Consider your medical status: Individuals with suppressed or impaired immune systems, mold allergies, asthma, or other chronic lung disease should not clean or remove moldy materials. When doing a major remodeling project, should we treat all the lumber with spray-on borate chemicals for protection? -- Brittany K. Dear Brittany: It is surprising how fast termites or carpenter ants can hollow out a piece of lumber. You may not notice it for quite a while until you see a spot on the wood surface. The wood can literally collapse when you push on it. Once you find a problem, it is very difficult to get access to completed structures. Pretreating all the lumber with borate chemicals is an excellent option. Borate chemicals protect the lumber from termites, carpenter ants, old house borers, beetles, silverfish, cockroaches, etc., and also from brown and white fungi and wet rot which can slowly cause the wood to deteriorate. The advantages of treating lumber with borate chemicals, as opposed to other professionally applied chemicals, is that they are not highly toxic to people or mammals. Avoid getting excessive amounts of it on plants or in ponds with fish. Once the wood is treated with borate chemicals and dries, the appearance of its surface is still similar to untreated lumber. You can still use saws, nails, screws, etc., exactly like untreated lumber. Borate chemicals will not corrode metal fasteners, and they are reasonably priced. Most home center stores, building supply outlets and paint stores should sell borate chemicals. If you have any trouble finding them, try these two companies for the names of local retail outlets: Sashco Sealants and Saver Systems. Borate chemicals belong to a class of wood treatments that diffuse and actually penetrate deep into the wood surface as opposed to a surface coating like paints. It can penetrate up to an inch deep. When the insects chew on the wood, the borate blocks up their digestive tract and they die. Many of the worker insects also carry the borate-treated wood fibers back to the nest. The simplicity of using borate chemicals to treat wood is also their primary drawback. Borate chemicals are typically sold as a powder that you dissolve in water and then apply by any of the above methods. Since it is water-soluble, it can slow leach back out of the lumber if it becomes damp. Over time, it will lose its insect- and fungi-fighting properties. It is imperative to treat all the surfaces of the lumber, especially the cut ends. Talk with your contractor about having the majority of the framing lumber delivered after part of the new room addition is protected from the rain. Treat all the ends of the lumber with borate at one time while the lumber is still strapped and bundled together. As with all treatment methods, make sure the wood surface is clear of dirt, waxes, oils, mold or anything else that will block the borate solution from the pores in the wood. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for mixing the borate powder with water. Typically, 1 pound of borate powder is mixed with 1 gallon of water. That 1 gallon of borate solution should treat about 200 square feet of lumber surface area. When spraying, as opposed to brushing, there is some waste, so the coverage may be less. Borate chemical solution can be applied by any standard method -- brushing, spraying, flooding or immersing in a bath. Spraying, using a common hand pump sprayer, is probably the easiest and most effective application method for the do-it-yourself homeowner. If you can find a long trough, immersing the lumber completely provides the deepest penetration of the borates. Leaving it immersed for about 3 to 5 minutes is usually long enough. Over a week or so, the borate chemicals will slowly penetrate even deeper to about a 1-inch depth. These debates are rigged. In the first debate, ABC clearly gave Harris the questions in advance. Then she rehearsed answers based on lie after lie (like an actress memorizing a script) -- and ABC refused to fact-check a single lie. Any debate Trump does with Kamala will be based on the same lies and cheating. Debating Kamala is like trying to win a rigged craps game. But here’s the one debate format Trump needs to do. Trump will clinch the election with this format: Trump needs to debate Kamala Harris the dummy -- and by that I mean a wooden dummy that looks like Kamala. As opposed to the real Kamala, who is also a dummy. She’s as dumb as a doorknob -- unless she is getting the questions in advance. How dumb is Kamala? She just turned down the Al Smith Dinner in New York run by the Catholic Cardinal of New York, to raise millions for Catholic charities. Only one presidential candidate in history ever turned it down -- Walter Mondale. He lost in a 49-state landslide. But Kamala is too scared to go out in public if the event isn’t rigged for her. She is terrified someone may ask her an unscripted question. Don’t look now, but she just insulted every Catholic in America. There goes the Catholic vote! But back to the debate. Here’s my creative idea: Team Trump needs to buy up TV infomercial time on every television network in America. And then present a fair and honest debate called ... “Trump vs. the REAL Kamala Harris.” Trump stands behind one podium. A life-size Kamala dummy stands behind the other. Then, start each segment of the debate with Kamala on video. Let her use her own words, on video, to present her REAL opinions and policies. She can’t hide her own words in this debate. She can’t lie. She can’t claim she’s being misrepresented. These are her actual radical and extreme Marxist views on video over the years. For each topic, we watch Kamala on video. Then Trump gets his chance to respond to what we just saw with our own eyes. These are Kamala’s actual opinions on video. For instance, we need to show a video of Kamala saying at a press conference, and I quote, “How dare we speak Merry Christmas. How dare we!” She really said that. Then President Trump can comment on Christmas. I’m guessing he loves the greatest of all American holidays. I’m guessing he thinks her hatred of Christmas is nasty. I’m guessing he thinks she is a modern-day Scrooge. There goes the entire Christian vote! Next, show a video of District Attorney Kamala saying she wants government agents to go into everyone’s home to inspect their guns. She really said that. There goes the gun owner’s vote. Next, show the TV interview where Kamala said she put thousands of black men in prison for smoking pot, while she was smoking pot, too. She then laughs -- as if it’s funny that she ruined black men’s lives. She really said that. On video. There goes the black male vote. Next, show a video of Kamala calling young people dumb. There goes the youth vote. Next, show a video of District Attorney Kamala bragging about her power -- fantasizing how she can indict an innocent American and ruin their life. She really said that. Show the video. Now Trump responds to the dangers of putting the power of the presidency into the hands of an evil psychopath who clearly gets high on her power. Perhaps he’ll point out that Kamala and her friends in the Biden administration did in fact indict an innocent man and try to bankrupt him and ruin his life -- that man was President Trump. Next, show videos of Kamala supporting and defending the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots and urging her supporters to donate to a bail fund to get BLM rioters, looters and thugs out of prison. I can’t wait to hear Trump’s response. Perhaps he’ll point out this was the REAL insurrection. This was the real attempt to overthrow the U.S. government and the rule of law. Next, show videos of Kamala saying she wants to -- and all of these are on video -- ban fracking; defund police; halt all deportations and close illegal alien detention centers; close down Immigration and Customs Enforcement (comparing ICE agents to the KKK); give citizenship to every illegal alien; give free health care to every illegal alien; give free sex change surgery to every transgender illegal alien; and take away private health insurance from every American. You can also show the newly unearthed video of Kamala in a parade in Los Angeles, chanting, “Down, down with deportations!” The list goes on and on of the radical, extreme, insane opinions and policies of Kamala Harris. Yes, she said all of that. Yes, it’s all on video. Show her saying it. In each case, Trump responds in real life to the REAL Kamala Harris on video, while Kamala the dummy stands behind the podium with nothing to say -- just like the real Kamala the dummy. What’s the difference between the Kamala dummy and the real dummy Kamala? One is wooden. Let’s not forget Kamala’s economic plans, which if elected, she would instantly install a socialist economy like Venezuela or Cuba, where the people are living in misery and poverty, shelves are bare, and the starving citizens are dumpster diving to find food. Show videos of Kamala saying she supports price controls (communist policy), taxing unrealized gains (communist policy), killing Trump’s tax cuts (which would result in the largest tax increase on the middle class in history) and dramatically raising capital gains taxes (which would collapse the stock and real estate markets -- goodbye to the value of your home and retirement account). Trump only needs to respond by quoting the great economic stats from his first term. End of story. Close the debate with the video of Kamala casting the deciding vote to add $80 billion dollars to the IRS budget, to hire around 80,000 new IRS agents, and specifically to target service workers making a living from tips. Then go straight to the video of the head of the IRS employees’ union last week endorsing Kamala Harris. Connect the dots. I can’t wait to hear President Trump say, “There is the proof. Kamala is in bed with the IRS and wants armed Gestapo-like IRS agents in every home, in every business, to intimidate the American people, and extort your hard-earned money, until you have nothing left for your family, or your retirement. I stand with the American people and taxpayers. She stands with IRS goons.” I’ll be glad to moderate. At this point, I’d end the debate and say, “Thank you to President Trump and Kamala Harris the dummy. Goodnight from Las Vegas.” Game over. Trump wins the election in a landslide once voters understand what the REAL Kamala Harris believes in. And once they realize the real Kamala Harris is as dumb, clueless and incompetent as Kamala the dummy. Page 11 The Sun Bay Paper October 11, 2024 SOCIAL SECURITYAND YOU How Your Retirement Benefit Is Figured I’ve learned over the years that when it comes to Social Security retirement benefit calculations, there are three kinds of people. There are those who just want to know what their benefit is going to be and don’t really care too much about how it’s calculated. Then there are those people who want a general idea of how their benefit will be figured, but they don’t need or want to know all the nitty-gritty details. (I think most seniors fall into that category.) And finally, there are more than a few senior citizens out there who want to know exactly how the government comes up with their retirement benefit calculation. Because I’m going to spend the rest of this column explaining how Social Security retirement benefits are figured, people in that first category can stop reading right now. For those of you in the second category, here is a relatively simple explanation: In a nutshell, a Social Security retirement benefit is a percentage of your average monthly income using your highest 35 years of inflation-adjusted earnings. When you file for retirement benefits, the Social Security Administration will look at your earnings history and pull out your highest 35 years. They don’t have to be consecutive. If you don’t have 35 years of earnings, the SSA must plug in an annual salary of $0 for every year you did not work, until the 35-year base is reached. However, before they add up those “high 35,” they index each year of past earnings for inflation. This is where the formula starts to get messy. That’s because there is a different adjustment factor for each year of earnings, AND each year’s adjustment factor is different based on your year of birth. Here is a quick example. If you were born in 1962 and earned $20,000 in 1992, they would multiply those earnings by an inflation adjustment factor of 2.78, meaning they would actually use $55,600 as your 1992 earnings. But if you were born in 1961 and earned that same $20,000 in 1992, they would use an inflation factor of 2.64, resulting in $52,800 as the 1992 earnings used in your Social Security computation. You can find a complete breakdown of those inflation adjustment factors for each year of birth (for folks nearing retirement age) at the Social Security Administration’s website. The next step in the retirement computation formula is to add up your highest 35 years of inflation-adjusted earnings. Then you divide by 420 -- that’s the number of months in 35 years -- to get your average inflation-adjusted monthly income. The final step brings us to the “social” part of Social Security. The percentage of your average monthly income that comes back to you in the form of a Social Security benefit depends on your income. In a nutshell, the lower your average wage, the higher percentage rate of return you get. Once again, the actual formula is messy and varies depending on your year of birth. As an example, here is the formula for someone born in 1962: You take the first $1,174 of average monthly income and multiply it by 90%. You take the next $5,904 of your average monthly income and multiply that by 32%. And you take any remainder and multiply it by 15%. You can find a complete breakdown of those computation “bend points” at www.socialsecurity.gov. Believe it or not, that was the simple explanation. If it were a college course, it would be Social Security Benefit Computation 101. But now I’m going to offer the slightly more advanced course for those who want to know every detail of the benefit computation formula. I’ll start by introducing this term: the “primary insurance amount,” or PIA. The PIA is your basic retirement benefit upon which all future calculations will be based. The “raw PIA” is actually calculated at age 62. In other words, when the SSA pulls out your highest 35 years of earnings, they only use earnings up to age 62. Then that raw PIA gets “cooked,” or increased, to take into account any earnings you had after age 62 and to include any cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) that were authorized for Social Security benefits after the year you reached age 62. But it gets a little tricky when SSA does the recomputation for any earnings you have after age 62. If you worked full time until age 67, for example, you would normally assume that those earnings between age 62 and 67 would increase your PIA. After all, you figure, they are some of your highest-earning years, so they will become part of that “high 35.” But not necessarily. For reasons I can’t take the time to explain in this short column, earnings after age 60 are not indexed for inflation. They get calculated at current dollar value only. So, if your “raw PIA” was based on a full 35-year history of high inflation-adjusted earnings, your current earnings may not be high enough to become part of your “high 35,” in which case they won’t increase your benefit. Or they might bump up the PIA, but not by much. In fact, I hear from readers all the time who tell me that they are confused because the benefit estimate they are getting from the SSA now (at age 67, let’s say) is not much more than the estimate they got back at age 62. Their current benefit estimate includes the COLA increases, but either little or no bump for their post-62 earnings. The reason why is that lack of inflation indexing after age 60. As you can see, the Social Security retirement benefit formula is pretty messy. And for most of you, I’d say, don’t worry about it. Just let the SSA do it for you. Go to www.socialsecurity.gov, and click on the “Plan for retirement” link on the homepage. It will walk you through the process of finding out what your Social Security benefit will be.
