Page 1 The Sun Bay Paper In South Florida, Jimmy Buff ett’s music is the anthem. His songs, simple and true, speak of the sea and sun. They echo in the hearts of those who walk the sandy shores. Now, Florida honors this son of the sea. If legislators have their way, a stretch of A1A in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe Counties will carry his name. A unanimous decision by the state Senate committee sealed this tribute. They watched a fi lm on Buff ett, a man whose songs are Florida itself. His “Margaritaville” is more than a tune; it is the soul of the Sunshine State Coastline. The renaming of State Road A1A to Jimmy Buff ett Memorial Highway stands as a monument. This road, winding along the Atlantic, is a symbol of Buff ett’s journey. Page 3 January 19, 2024 The Sun Bay Paper The haunting silence of the once-thriving Sanibel Outlets in Iona, Florida, broken only by the news of vandalism, poses a stark challenge for the Lee County Sheriff ’s Offi ce (LCSO). In a distressing discovery, roofers looking to repair a leak found 43 damaged HVAC units on the abandoned property, a testament to the rising concern of vandalism in unoccupied structures. Hurricane Ian’s aftermath has left the mall deserted for months, transforming it from a community hub into a target for unlawful activities. John Franc, recalling better days, said, “Sanibel outlets have been fantastic... it was kind of a gathering place for us to go to.” This sentiment is now overshadowed by the current state of neglect and destruction. The vandalism incident, involving expensive equipment damage, highlights a broader issue. With rusted locks on roof access points, the property became an easy target. The sheriff ’s offi ce, seeking public assistance in the investigation, emphasizes the community’s role in combating such crimes. The Underlying Challenge Vandalism on abandoned properties like Sanibel Outlets is not just an act of random destruction. It’s a complex problem intertwined with social factors and urban decay. The vandalism refl ects a larger, more systematic issue in the community, viewed as a “broken windows” off ense. If left unchecked, it could spiral into more severe criminal activities. Prevention and Response Addressing vandalism eff ectively requires a multifaceted approach. The LCSO, under Sheriff Carmine Marceno, is amplifying community outreach. Initiatives like the Ice Cream Response Team and Coff ee With a Cop are part of these eff orts, aiming to engage the community and foster a sense of shared responsibility. Preventive measures suggested by studies, like those published by the Department of Justice Offi ce of Justice Programs, focus on education, social programs, criminal justice actions, and reducing opportunities for vandalism. This approach aligns with a ‘Safe City’ model, advocating for community-based initiatives to create safer environments. The Way Forward The challenge for LCSO and the community is to transform strategies into eff ective action. This involves understanding the patterns and motivations behind vandalism, implementing practical strategies, and adapting based on measured outcomes. As Marceno steps into an election year with a focus on community engagement, the task is to ensure that places like the Sanibel Outlets do not become symbols of neglect but rather beacons of communal resilience and safety. In this ongoing battle against vandalism, the role of law enforcement is pivotal but not solitary. The solution lies in collaborative eff orts, leveraging community partnerships, and proactive measures to prevent such incidents in the future. As the Sanibel Outlets stand in quiet disrepair, they remind us of the continuous eff ort required to maintain safety and order in the wake of unforeseen calamities. Quote of the Week Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. - Confucius To the Editor, President Reagan said it like it is ... Much like President Trump... In a Dec. 14, 1975 interview with 60 Minutes correspondent Mike Wallace, Reagan discussed his political philosophy, saying that “the heart of my philosophy is much more libertarianism, than --.” Wallace then interrupted, “Well, that’s the fashionable word these days, I guess. A conservative is no longer just that, he’s a libertarian.” Reagan continued, “It always has been. How do we call a liberal? You know, someone very profoundly once said many years ago that if fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the name of liberalism.” “And what is fascism?” Reagan said. “Fascism is private ownership, private enterprise, but total government control and regulation. Well, isn’t this the liberal philosophy?” “The conservative, so-called, is the one that says less government, get off my back, get out of my pocket, and let me have more control of my own destiny,” he said. Ronald Reagan (1911-2004), who was the 40th president of the United States and served two terms (1981-1989), was ranked by Americans as the greatest president in U.S. history in a 2011 Gallup survey. Thomas Fournier Fort Myers Beach at a Crossroads: Cut Red Tape or Risk Fading Away Like Mexico Beach Fort Myers Beach faces a crisis. After Hurricane Ian, the town could become another Mexico Beach, where recovery is a distant dream fi ve years post-Hurricane Michael. The cause? Government red tape. Property owners are trapped in a bureaucratic maze. Federal, state, and local regulations hinder rebuilding. Residents are frustrated. Condo owners expressed their grievances at a recent Town Council meeting. They face shortages of parts, reliable contractors, and traffi c delays. Yet, their biggest obstacle remains governmental bureaucracy. Businesses, especially tourism-driven ones, struggle to rebuild. New rules allow only a fraction of previous structures. A local business owner laments, “I had twelve rental units. Now, I can only rebuild four. It’s economically unviable. And I know dozens of others in the same boat.” The town’s economic survival hangs in the balance. Current regulations threaten to stifl e the economic activity essential for recovery. Fort Myers Beach risks remaining a shell of its former self without change. Government agencies must act. FEMA, SBA, and FPL are criticized for their slow response and changing requirements. Insurance companies add to the woes, fi ghting claims and forcing owners to seek legal help. These delays spell fi nancial ruin for many. Mayor Dan Allers recognizes the challenges. He’s working on a moratorium on state-mandated reserve funds for condo repairs, a burden for already struggling owners. This is a step in the right direction. The community’s spirit remains unbroken. They seek solutions, urging government offi cials to streamline processes. The town needs large-scale building and restoration with minimal red tape. Only then can commercial and economic activities fl ourish. Government offi cials must listen. They need to facilitate recovery, not hinder it. If they fail, they should face consequences from the people of Fort Myers Beach. Unfortunately just changing leadership may be too little too late as these issues are here and now, just look around, while we all applaud the strides the beach community has made, much of our island is.... and too many of our islanders are.... still hurting. Fort Myers Beach stands at a crossroads. Will it revive its vibrant community or fall into obscurity like Mexico Beach? Cutting through the red tape and embracing swift, eff ective recovery measures is the answer. The future of Fort Myers Beach depends on it. Richard Luthmann Editor in Chief To the Editor, I applaud your story in the January 5, 2024 edition. What a believable story I survived the Hurricane at our house on FMB. Immediately after, I experienced the Nazi tactics of the FMB government. With our house destroyed, we continued to receive the “Violations” of the FMB Gestapo. No one has ever attempted to help the homeowners of FMB. The Mayor, unfortunately, lives on our street. He has done nothing to help the citizens of FMB. His lackey “Beach Talk Radio” has done nothing to point out and expose the tactics of the FMB government. Meanwhile we have all suff ered not only from IAN but our own government. We all hear the same excuse, it’s FEMA........... Bull Shit. Common sense has no place here on FMB. Your article hit a nerve. Please do more to expose the incredible bias and corruption of FMB. I have seen and know all too well how the strong-arm of government can come down on anyone who rocks the boat or voices a true oppositional opinion. In clarifi cation; I’m not saying that this government would put anyone under more scrutiny for rocking the boat, I’m just saying I have seen it, and will protect this whistle blower’s identity. Anyone who has similar stories or has had issues with contractors or any service people who are taking advantage of hurricane survivors... PLEASE contact us. In clarifi cation, we know that many (hopefully most) contractors are legit! but unfortunately there are “confi dence people” who take advantage of such situations. Page 5 The Sun Bay Paper January 19, 2024 I have written on this topic many times since Hussein Obama became President and he announced that his 3rd term would be “in his basement with a cell phone and ear plug” ... to a faux president. Since Obiden fi ts that bill exactly and his actions are, in my opinion, treasonous, it all fi ts...too many coincidences make a fact! Here’s what we know. There have only been 40 cases of Treason prosecuted in the United States, with 13 successful convictions and 3 executions. It is diffi - cult to prove because of the very specifi c defi nition of the elements of treason which are set forth in Article 3, of the Constitution.... Article 3: “Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort”. Title 18 section 2381 USC says, “Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suff er death, or imprisoned and fi ned, and incapable of holding any U.S. offi ce.” In my opinion these two scoundrels may have made it easy to prove the elements. First “owing allegiance to the United States” ...they both were sworn in as Presidents of the United States, swearing to protect, preserve and defend the Constitution of the United States...that is Prima Facie evidence. Let’s look at the other elements... “Adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort”. Who are our enemies? I’ll bet a 5th grader could name America’s enemies...I’ll name just a few, the most dangerous, self-declared enemies who want us, you, and me, dead...Iran, China, Russia, ISIS, Al-Qaida, Afghanistan, N Korea! There are many more, but it is interesting to note that most are Muslim Nations, or Caliphates, with whom we have been at war. The fact is, according to all US Military and Intelligence Agencies (what a misnomer), Iran is the largest State Sponsor of Terrorism, IN THE WORLD! The US State Department designated Iran a State Sponsor of Terrorism in 1979! What does Obama do? He gives the world’s biggest sponsor of terrorism...Iran... +/- 180 billion in freaking cash, untraceable, unstoppable?! Obama claimed we “owed” it to them. Explain how an enemy that openly states, “We will kill every American”, gets to be owed anything but a bullet ...a used one? They killed thousands of Americans and bragged about it...laughed about it...and we owe them billions...? In my opinion, we are still at war... with many, and not just trading bullets. I mean acts of war where they have stolen US secrets, severely damaging our defense systems. The latest is China’s hypersonic missile, with stolen US technology, bragging that nobody on Earth can defend against it!!! Well with their new 20,000 mph missile, with US technology, my opinion... they are NOT lying!! By the way, China...we have a few ourselves! When I was in college, Russia announced they had invented the thinnest wire in the world. They sent the US a sample. We drilled a hole in it and sent it back...true story! As we all know, Presidents have tremendous power, and a few have used/abused those powers to aid enemies by back door deals. They have devised ways to deal with countries they should not have dealt with, to give them money, military equipment and then cover these actions with nonsense that the press backs up with or without any evidence. Look at Benghazi ...how did those “rebels” get those munitions, RPGs? Issues, like “climate change”, require no fossil fuels, are beyond the hands of man and have been a part of Earth as much as the stars, moon, and Sun for 5 billion years...wait...or is it 4 billion? You see, science really has no idea how old mother Earth actually is...could be 4 billion or could be 5 or 10 or 20. You see there is NO direct evidence how old the Earth is?! Nobody here is that old to testify with direct knowledge. Heck, the center is still cooling with a 5,000-mile-wide core that’s about 10,000 degrees F. So...planet Earth if you really want the truth...is a mystery! The fact is science, and all our computers cannot tell for certain which way a tornado will turn, or if it will rain for certain tomorrow or exactly what the temperature will be tomorrow! It’s all an educated...guess! Open borders and not drilling for oil have NOTHING to do with climate change and that’s a fact! The fact is Obiden created a situation that “requires” the US to buy oil from someplace...and that someplace just happened to be our freaking enemies, who want us dead, Russia, Iran, China!! We are buying fossil fuels from Russia and China ...our enemies... racking in billions while Americans pay for their treasonous acts...aiding our enemies. China was on the verge of bankruptcy until Obiden came to their aid...our enemy benefi ts while Americans pay dearly for energy... gas, heat, foods transported by fossil fuels...WHAT? Obiden took the restrictions off Russia regarding oil and is prospering while we suff er... what’s that called CNN? That’s unbelievable...if that isn’t Treason...what is it NBC? How about you?! The actions and inactions these two scoundrels have committed individually and in conspiracy may well be acts of treason and need to be investigated, charged and prosecuted...my opinion as a Federal Criminal Crime investigator for almost 30 years! How does buying oil from Russia benefi t us? Most Americans know our electricity, 80%, mostly comes from fossil fuels...coal, natural gas and oil.? WHAT BENEFIT IS THERE TO AMERICA BY STOPPING THE USE OF FOSSIL FUELS!? The Right Side ARE THE TAG TEAM OF HUSSEIN OBAMAAND JOE OBIDEN GUILTY OF COMMITTING TREASON? I side with the real experts, scientists like Heartland Institute, John Coleman (Weather Channel creator), Patrick Moore (Scientist and Greenpeace co-founder), 30,000 cosigners to the Petition to Congress to NOT reduce CO₂ emissions and on and on...!!! How about the unknown enemies Biden allowed into the US, his Obiden’s OPEN BORDERS policy while Mayorkas says, “The Border is secure”. Liken that to, “The Titanic didn’t sink” or “The Earth isn’t round”. Obiden’s lies...the Border is secure...sure Joe and you just saw the Titanic in the Bahamas!?!? We cannot live without fossil fuels...ANYBODY who says otherwise is either very stupid or very corrupt. Stopping all the oil and gas wells Obiden and Obama stopped... aided our enemies...ALL OF THEM...and NONE of us! LISTEN FOLKS...FORGET EVERYTHING ELSE FOR AMINUTE AND PONDER THIS THOUGHT...WE CANNOT LIVE FOR LONG WITHOUT FOSSIL FUELS!!! Fossil fuel is electricity in a wire, and it powers everything you need. The water you drink and natural gas you heat with, disposing of your sewage, your clothing, cars, planes, everything you have... was touched with fossil fuel also known as electricity!!! Do you believe that Obama just walked away from Iraq, leaving billions of dollars in military arms, ammunition and vehicles and other equipment, aided, ISIS, Iran and Al-Qaida or hindered them? When ISIS and Al-Qaida terrorists were escaping to Syria, in a procession of those Arms Obama abandoned...would refusing to attack that enemy, aid or hinder them? Treason or not? Afghanistan ...Obiden gave our worst enemies, China, Iran and Al-Qaida the following: +/- $81 billion dollars of the most high-tech weapons that even our troops didn’t have...aid or hinder? He gave China the Bagram Air Force Base; he gave China the largest lithium deposits in the world...Afghanistan ...aid or hinder? Obama gave Russia 20% of the US’s Uranium deposits...aid or hinder?! President Trump destroyed ISIS in months ...not years...aid or killed?? Obama was full of crap when he lied to us about ISIS being JV, to play them down, did he not know one of the I’s in ISIS stood for Islam... do you believe that mattered to him...he who swore to protect us? President Trump sure didn’t let that “I”, which stood for Islam, stop him from doing his sworn duty by removing those barbarians, headhunters from the face of the Earth. All of these and many more transactions by O-O, these two culprits must be investigated. In an act of desperation, I believe, if Joe Biden is not removed from offi ce, he will cause irreparable damage to our Nation’s Security, National Grid, and the US dollar...in an attempt to take over our Constitutional Republic by any means possible and make it a Socialist Nation! In my opinion, words that unfortunately describe this horrendous president are Criminal Negligence, Dereliction of Duty, Ineptness, Corruption...but... NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON...OR DO THEY? What will you say when Obiden does what he said, on Dec 23, 2023... “I will close all CO₂ and methane emitting power plants (that’s all fossil fuel plants)” ...and your A/C, heat, drinking water, lights go out?? What powers your backup genny? Hmmmm? In 2008 when Obama arrived we had 125% of electric power Grid. That’s 25% more than we needed, in reserve. Obama then closed 45% of that grid comprised of coal AND oil AND natural gas., without any reliable replacements. Subtract 45% from 125% and we now have 80% of capacity, right now, today we have only 80% of what America needs. That’s 20% short. On 12/23/23 Biden said he will shut down all the remaining fossil fuel electric plants…coal, oil, natural gas. That will leave nuclear and hydro and nothing else reliable! That is less than 20% and not enough to keep the Grid working …it will collapse…you will have no power no electric. Why because they are going to try to take over the country. He cannot “just “ turn off the fossil fuel plants because almost all that is left now is fossil fuel ! The nuclear and hydro and BS solar and wind won’t do anything. We will be in the dark. Call your representatives and demand they stop Biden and Obama from closing any more power plants. J Gary Dilaura, FBI RET therightsidejgarydilaura.com

Page 7 The Sun Bay Paper January 19, 2024 In the perennial debate surrounding homeowners’ insurance premiums in Florida, a long-anticipated study commissioned by the Legislature has emerged, shedding light on the intricate relationship between insurance claims, litigation, and the fi nancial burden borne by policyholders. For years, insurance companies and lawmakers have attributed the soaring premiums in the state to lawsuits, alleging that frivolous or abusive legal actions were driving record losses. However, the fi ndings of this study paint a more nuanced picture. A comprehensive analysis of 58,395 insurance claims leading to lawsuits in 2022 unearthed a striking geographic concentration. Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties exhibited a disproportionate number of litigated claims, suggesting potential fraudulent or abusive practices in these regions. This geographical dimension adds a layer of complexity to the understanding of the factors contributing to the insurance landscape. One of the study’s signifi - cant revelations lies in the substantial cost disparity between litigated and non-litigated claims. Litigated claims were found to be more than six times more expensive than those that did not result in a lawsuit. This fi nancial strain on insurance companies contributes signifi cantly to the overarching issue of higher premiums for Floridian homeowners. Contrary to the narrative propagated by Governor Ron DeSantis and insurance companies, the study challenges the notion that frivolous lawsuits alone are responsible for the state’s soaring premiums. Despite successive legislative changes aimed at making it more challenging to sue insurance companies, there has been no corresponding reduction in premiums. The disconnect between legislative eff orts and tangible outcomes raises questions about the eff ectiveness of this approach. An intriguing aspect highlighted by the study is the correlation between lawsuits and insurers’ delays in closing claims. The longer an insurance company took to resolve a claim, the higher the likelihood of a policyholder resorting to legal action. This indicates a level of dissatisfaction among consumers, suggesting that insurers’ practices may be contributing to the need for legal recourse. The fi nancial repercussions of this dissatisfaction are likely felt by consumers through increased premiums. Insurers have often pointed fi ngers at lawyers, contractors, and public adjusters for conspiring to fi le frivolous lawsuits. The study adds another layer to this narrative by revealing that 58% of policyholders who sued insurers engaged the services of a public adjuster. However, the data contradicts claims by insurers and business groups regarding the signifi cance of contingency fee multipliers in encouraging frivolous cases. As Florida grapples with the complex web of issues surrounding homeowners’ insurance, this study serves as a valuable resource, providing insights into the multifaceted dynamics at play. While litigation does emerge as a factor, the geographic disparities, cost diff erentials, and consumer dissatisfaction underscore the need for a comprehensive and nuanced approach to address the challenges in the state’s insurance landscape. Policymakers are now faced with the task of navigating this intricate terrain to ensure a fair and aff ordable insurance environment for residents. Want to bring new customers to your door? January 19, 2024 The Sun Bay Paper Page 8 In a groundbreaking development, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given the green light to Florida’s innovative two-year plan, allowing for the importation of specifi c prescription drugs from Canada at a cost lower than their U.S. counterparts. This pivotal decision comes amid the federal government’s scrutiny of the U.S. drug-pricing system, which has resulted in the world’s highest per capita out-of-pocket spending on prescription drugs. Florida, at the forefront of this transformative initiative, anticipates signifi cant savings, projecting an estimated $150 million in the inaugural year of the bulk importation program. The success of these projections, however, hinges on the FDA’s subsequent approval of the specifi c drugs that Florida aims to import. This regulatory step is crucial and precedes the commencement of actual shipments, underscoring the meticulous scrutiny applied to ensure the safety, effi cacy, and compliance of the imported drugs. As the FDA paves the way for Florida, the pharmaceutical industry’s leading lobbying group has voiced its opposition to the decision. This refl ects the complex landscape surrounding drug pricing and importation policies, with stakeholders expressing diverse perspectives on the potential implications for the industry. Florida’s pioneering role in this initiative positions the state as a trailblazer, with the outcomes of the two-year plan expected to have far-reaching consequences. Beyond immediate fi nancial relief for consumers, the program sparks broader discussions about reshaping pharmaceutical access and pricing policies on a national scale. This momentous decision sets the stage for potential emulation by other states, prompting a collective reevaluation of strategies to make essential medications more aff ordable and accessible for all Americans. In response to the FDA’s approval, Florida’s Governor expressed optimism, emphasizing that the program aligns with the state’s commitment to addressing the high costs of prescription drugs. He underscored the potential for this initiative to serve as a model for other states grappling with similar challenges. However, challenges lie ahead, with the FDA’s requirement for approval of specifi c drugs creating a critical checkpoint. The state must navigate these intricacies to bring the intended benefi ts to fruition. The pharmaceutical industry’s opposition adds another layer of complexity, highlighting the ongoing debate surrounding drug pricing reforms. As Florida forges ahead, the nation watches closely, recognizing the potential for this program to reshape the conversation around pharmaceutical aff ordability and access. The outcomes of this twoyear plan could well serve as a catalyst for broader changes in drug importation policies, off ering hope for a more aff ordable and accessible future for essential medications across the United States. GOOD NEWS: FDA Greenlights Florida’s Prescription Drug Importation A new license plate, emblazoned with “Margaritaville,” will also emerge. Sales from this plate will fuel Buff ett’s charity, aiding those battered by storms. Buff ett’s passing, at 76, left a void. The rare skin cancer that claimed him spurred tributes across the state. He was a voice in Florida politics, a man of the sea and sand who stood for more. He fought for the environment and for the people. His music, mingling with his activism, showed a man of depth and commitment. His legacy is not just in melodies but in the very fabric of Florida. The renaming of the road and the creation of the “Margaritaville” license plate are testaments to his enduring infl uence. January 19, 2024 The Sun Bay Paper Page 9 The Right Side seldom comes across articles as explicit, exact, accurate to present times and brilliantly presented as what is presented below. I believe everyone in America should have the opportunity to be made aware of Dr Jack Devere Minzey ‘s insight. The Right Side- J Gary DiLaura Dr. Jack Devere Minzey, born 6 October 1928- died 8 April 2018, was the Department Head of Education at Eastern Michigan University as well as a prolifi c author of numerous books, most of which were on the topic of Education and the Government role therein. This was the last of his works: Civil War: How do civil wars happen? Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can’t settle the question through elections because they don’t even agree that elections are how you decide who’s in charge. That’s the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country. When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war. The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from offi ce and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it’s not the fi rst time they’ve done this. The fi rst time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn’t really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There’s a pattern here. What do sure odds of the Democrats rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don’t accept the results of any election that they don’t win. It means they don’t believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections. That’s a civil war. There’s no shooting. At least not unless you count the attempt to kill a bunch of Republicans at a charity baseball game practice. But the Democrats have rejected our system of government. This isn’t dissent. It’s not disagreement. You can hate the other party. You can think they’re the worst thing that ever happened to the country. But then you work harder to win the next election. When you consistently reject the results of elections that you don’t win, what you want is a dictatorship. Your very own dictatorship. The only legitimate exercise of power in this country, according to Democrats, is its own. Whenever Republicans exercise power, it’s inherently illegitimate. The Democrats lost Congress. They lost the White House. So what did they do? They began trying to run the country through Federal judges and bureaucrats. Every time that a Federal judge issues an order saying that the President of the United States can’t scratch his own back without his say so, that’s the civil war. Our system of government is based on the constitution, but that’s not the system that runs this country. The Democrat’s system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country. If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything. And I mean anything. He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens. He can fi ne you for not having health insurance. He can use the IRS as his own police force and imprison citizens who speak against him. He can provide guns and money (Fast and Furious) (Iran nuclear deal) to other countries to support his own agenda, and watch while one of America’s Ambassador’s is dragged through the streets and murdered doing nothing to aid our citizens. His power is unlimited. He’s a dictator. But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can’t do anything. He isn’t even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented. A Democrat in the White House has ‘discretion’ to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn’t even have the ‘discretion’ to reverse him. That’s how the game is played That’s how our country is run. Sad but true, although the left hasn’t yet won that particular fi ght. When a Democrat is in the White House, states aren’t even allowed to enforce immigration law. But when a Republican is in the White House, states can create their own immigration laws. Under Obama, a state wasn’t allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission. But under Trump, Jerry Brown can go around saying that California is an independent republic and sign treaties with other countries. The Constitution has something to say about that. Whether it’s Federal or State, Executive, Legislative or Judiciary, the left moves power around to run the country. If it controls an institution, then that institution is suddenly the supreme power in the land. This is what I call a moving dictatorship. Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding: Professional government is a guild. Like medieval guilds. You can’t serve in if you’re not a member. If you haven’t been indoctrinated into its arcane rituals. If you aren’t in the club. And Trump isn’t in the club. He brought in a bunch of people who aren’t in the club with him. Now we’re seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them. They spy on them, they investigate them and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down. That’s not a free country. It’s not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an ‘insurance policy’ against Trump winning the election. It’s not a free country when Obama offi cials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It’s not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him, from social media. It’s not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who wasn’t supposed to win did. Have no doubt, we’re in a civil war between conservative volunteer government and a leftist Democrat professional government. January 19, 2024 The Sun Bay Paper Page 10 Environmental MSM… MISLEADING AMERICA! NO MATTER WHAT NASA, JOHN COLEMAN PHD (WEATHER CHANNEL), PATRICK MOORE PHD (CO-FOUNDER GREENPEACE), DR. ARTHUR ROBINSON (HEARTLAND INSTITUTE BOARD OF DIRECTORS), 31,000 SCIENTISTS OR I SAY...IGNORANT JOURNALISTS WILL CONTINUE TO CLAIM OPINIONS AS FACTS...for as long as the ignorant Mainstream Media (MSM) allows! All part of a planned coup to take over America! I will not stop reporting/repeating the truth! America deserves the truth!! The NY Times continuously runs undocumented columns on environmental issues by writers whose credentials are either nonexistent or not displayed. The most I’ve seen is, “Science Journalists” next to their names. What is that? These writers put forth their opinions as facts when details expose that they are NOT facts ...just uninformed opinions. Opinions are fi ne...just tell your readers either your sources with data or your writings are unverifi ed opinions. That is very serious when you are trying to scare your readers into believing that “Global Warming” is dangerous as is “Climate Change” when nothing can be further than the truth. There is no verifi able evidence that there even is Global Warming and Climate Change deserves to be the “Biggest Threat to America” ...Joe Obiden’s words! Recently The Times ran a column by Raymond Zhong and Keith Collins, titled, “2023 Marked Hottest Year on Earth in The Last 150” ...WOW! I off er we place that broad statement right up there with Al Gore and the IPCC prediction that “The glaciers will melt, Manhattan will fl ood, and the polar bears will go extinct” ...Well did they? No, in fact...none of that happened or even came close, nor will it! Here’s the problem with their report. Even if true...is it worthy of a BOLD headline meant to scare and not inform? Your statement makes a one-year study suspicious and compares it to 150 years and then wants to draw a signifi cance. Wrong! The comparison should be to a planet of unknown age... Earth! Unknown for certain and scientists cannot agree, so we’ll pick an estimate of 5,000,000,000 years. The signifi cance, scientifi cally, of your info is 1/5,000,000,000 %!? Where did that useless info come from? Was it the UN IPCC as I suspect? Exactly how were those GLOBAL temperatures measured, where, by whom were the temperatures measured...the IPCC did an 18-year study, costing millions of US dollars, producing a model that they (UN IPCC) used to predict temperatures that all these writers were representing. We don’t know for certain ...but I’ll bet the Times uses info from the IPCC all the time. That’s good because NASA shot down the UN IPCC at the 2015 Paris accord! Let’s address the accuracy of the IPCC data and predictions that people make relying upon the IPCC...a mistake, my opinion! In 2015 NASA did a thorough study of the Antarctic Land Mass Ice Pack by drilling thousands of holes, carbon dating and measuring temperatures and other tests. Antarctica is the coldest place on Earth. The average temperature in the winter is minus 34.4 Celsius (minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit). The temperature in the center of Antarctica is much lower than the temperature on the coasts. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Antarctica was minus 89.4 C (minus 129 F). NASA... “NEWS | November 5, 2015 Study: Mass gains of Antarctic ice sheet greater than losses By Maria-José Viñas, NASA’s Earth Science News Team NOTE: The fi ndings reported here confl ict with over a decade of other measurements, including previous NASA studies. However, challenges to existing fi ndings are an integral part of the scientifi c process and can help clarify and advance understanding. Additional scrutiny and follow-up research will be required before this study can be reconciled with the preponderance of evidence supporting the widely accepted model of a shrinking Antarctic ice sheet. A new NASA study says that an increase in Antarctic snow accumulation that began 10,000 years ago is currently adding enough ice to the continent to outweigh the increased losses from its thinning glaciers. The research challenges the conclusions of other studies, including the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) 2013 report, which says that Antarctica is overall losing land ice...” NASA made the presentation in 2015 to the Paris accord and, summarizing, reported the Antarctic Ice Land Mass is thicker, colder, and larger than it was 10,000 years ago. Real scientists would not make any global assumptions by such a “small” sampling as only 10,000 years compared to 5 billion years but did make a conclusion on the IPCC 18-year study and model. That was the model Al Gore used to predict the glaciers are melting and polar bears dying, and NY City will be under water...the IPCC Model predicts NOTHING and is USELESS, according to NASA. The result was an investigation into IPCC, ethics, procedures, and accuracy by many including John Coleman. Dr Coleman compared, for himself, IPCC raw data to actual recorded temperatures and there was no correlation in their million dollars model... useless! Several members of the IPCC resigned as a result of their “Cooking the books”. If you ask NASA if CO₂ causes holes in the Ozone they answer “Yes and NO” ...that means they don’t know but want to be politically correct, my opinion! The Times reporters use scare tactics at every level... For example... “The numbers are in, and scientists (names?) can now confi rm what month after month of extraordinary heat worldwide began signaling long ago. Last year was Earth’s warmest by far in a century and a half.” “To climate scientists (names?), it comes as no surprise that unabated emissions of greenhouse gases caused global warming to reach new highs”. “Averaged across last year, temperatures worldwide were...2.66 Fahrenheit, higher than they were in the “second half of the 19th century”, the European climate monitor announced Tuesday”. I challenge the reliability of this information. “Temperatures Worldwide” in the late 1800s, c’mon man...really?? Who could or would collect temperatures in the late 1800’s in Europe and who are you fooling...2.66 in 1800 ...The Mercury thermometer wasn’t invented until 1714 and available until late 1850’s. Think about it... not believable at all! Now here’s what Scientists say...well over 30,000...names and identifi cation are online... From Heartland Institute... Dr. Arthur B. Robinson served on the Board of Directors of The Heartland Institute from 2016 to 2019. He is also a senior fellow for environment policy at Heartland and the namesake of Heartland’s Arthur B. Robinson Center on Climate and Environmental Policy. Beginning in 1997, Dr. Robinson, along with his son Noah, Dr. Frederick Seitz, Dr. Sallie Baliunas, Dr. Willie Soon, and others, organized the Petition Project, a statement fi rmly rejecting global warming alarmism eventually signed by more than 31,000 U.S. scientists. Dr. Robinson updated and re-issued the petition in 2007 and continues to maintain it as the world’s largest directory of scientists who reject global warming alarmism. The petition in its entirety reads, “We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in Kyoto, Japan in December 1997, and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind. There is no convincing scientifi c evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientifi c evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many benefi cial eff ects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.” Patrick Moore, PhD, and Co-Founder of Greenpeace came forward with things he held in for years because they were not the truth. When he couldn’t take it anymore, he resigned and went public on many signifi cant environmental issues. For example, the Rainbow Warrior is a faux sailboat, according to Dr Moore. He never saw the sails propel the vessel! It was just for show! There are two huge electromotive engines that are operated by diesel generators. They use thousands of gallons of diesel! He also said that our trees and green life that make oxygen by photosynthesis, need 2000 ppm CO₂ to fl ourish and 200 ppm to exist. We are around 450 ppm ...not enough! He also said if you have a greenhouse of plants and veggies that are not doing well... put your car exhaust into the greenhouse overnight and see the diff erence. Why not put huge greenhouses around all fossil fuel plants and run the exhaust through the greenhouses, my idea. Then invite Democrap members of Congress to take tours...on a regular basis! Summary...science knows very little about the relationships between fossil fuels and Mother Earth. Each year excess carbon falls into the oceans and benefi ts plant growth, fi sh, then humans...science hasn’t fi gured out how or why. Science has no idea how long the Earth has been here, but does know that the Sun, Earth’s orbit around the Sun, the Earth spinning on her axis and eff ects on Earth by our moon, stars, other planets, have the most impact on Earth and cause our weather, climate, temperatures, climate changes! To do stupid things like taking away fossil fuels is a violation of our Bill of Rights, the Constitution and our unalienable Rights to Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. J. Gary DiLaura
